Within Forza Horizon 5 there are dozens of different skills that you can earn will racing or cruising around Mexico. Some are easy and self-explanatory, like the Wreckage or Speed skills, but others can be a bit trickier to pull off, and that includes Forza Horizon 5 Showoff skills.
Showoff skills cause Forza Horizon 5 players headaches for a couple of reasons. The first is that it isn’t immediately clear what it actually entails from the name and symbol (which is a muscular arm flexing). As a result, when asked to earn Showoff skills for weekly playlist challenges, many players are left scrathcing their heads. The second issue is that they can be a bit difficult to pull off, depending on the car you’re using. Here, we’ll straighten everything out for you and show you how to earn Showoff skills in the open-world racing game.
What are Forza Horizon 5 Showoff skills?
Forza Horizon 5 Showoff skills are earned when you perform a Drift and a Pass skill at the same time. This essentially means that you need to overtake an opponent during a race while drifting.
Showoff skills will net you a total of 1,000 points towards your skill chain, so they’re a handy way of racking up points and adding in a different variety of skill to increase your multiplier.

Forza Horizon 5 Showoff skill tips
For those adept at racing games, it shouldn’t be too much of a challenge to earn a Showoff skill now that you know the information above. However, for those struggling to get them, here are some tips.
- Choose a car that’s easy to drift. Unless a playlist challenge requires you to use a specific car, you should opt for slidy cars that are easy to control. You’ll notice in your vehicle collection that you can filter by ‘Car Type’, so try narrowing down your search by looking at Drift Cars or any Rally classes. Also make sure you’re going for rear-wheel drive (RWD) cars, as front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive cars are much harder to slide.
- Do races on loose surfaces. Again, unless a challenge requires you to specifically race on the road, Showoff skills are best earned in offroad races because drifting is easier on surfaces like sand and dirt.
- Take corners on the inside. Probably the easiest why to get a drifting overtake done is to get past opponents on the inside of corners. Take the tight line, pull your handbrake just before the turn, and control the slide. Only a small drift is required, so you don’t need to be going at insane speeds either.
