To earn medals quickly in Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels you want to focus on Major Missions. Within each of the Hot Wheels Academy ranks, there are about half a dozen of these missions, each worth 50 medals.
This should help you rank up and earn medals super fast so you can take on the tougher challenges. If you want some more medals, a good second option is to find all 20 of the Tank Balloon locations around the map.
