It feels like just yesterday we were at the start of Fortnite Chapter 3, but we’re now on Fortnite Chapter 4 with a brand new map and some new content for us to experience. One of these new additions for Fortnite is the Augment system, a perk-like mechanic that gives you better odds at winning, but how do you activate an Augment in Fortnite?
While you’re looking for the new Oathbound Chests in Fortnite, which you may find by dropping into some of Fortnite’s best landing spots, you’ll get access to some of these exciting Augments. They range from offering increased damage with the first bullet of an assault rifle magazine, all the way to seeing the next storm circle each time it closes. But you’ll need to be able to use them first.
How to activate Augments in Fortnite
To activate an Augment by pressing right on the D-Pad on a controller or 7 on a keyboard. Augments become available the more you play in each match, where you’ll see a pop up in the bottom right of the screen to let you know one is available.
You’ll get a choice of two each time you receive the ability to use an Augment, or you can re-roll them to get a new set. The first re-roll per match is free, with each future set during the match costing 100 Gold to re-roll.
