New FIFA 23 winter transfer cards for Gakpo and Ronaldo hit FUT

FIFA 23 players are starting to see new winter transfer cards hit FUT packs on PS5, Xbox, and PC including Liverpool LW Cody Gakpo and Ronaldo, now at Al Nassr

At long last, the January transfer window has closed; a number of the world’s biggest football clubs have done quite a bit of business. We’re not here to tell you which bits of business are good, and which aren’t so good, but it’s the perfect time to start thinking about switching up your FIFA 23 Ultimate Team squad – especially when you consider that there’s a free FIFA 23 Prime Gaming pack just in time for the FUT TOTY XI promo. If you’re looking for an upgrade, you’ll also be pleased to know that winter transfer cards are starting to show up in FIFA 23 packs already.

We know it feels a little soon, but EA are on it when it comes to FIFA 23 and quite a few players who moved clubs in the January transfer window are already making their way to packs – meaning the old variations of these players are being removed from packs. FIFA content creator ‘FutSheriff’ has confirmed that a Liverpool card for Cody Gakpo and an Al Nassr card for Cristiano Ronaldo are already available in-game.

This alone might not interest you, but don’t look away just yet. It looks like quite a few of these players are also going to have updated ratings.

Yeah, now things are interesting – especially if you’re clinging on to a better version of a card that has been downgraded. We know the FIFA 23 Ultimate Team transfer market is unpredictable, but you could very-well be sitting on a gold mine.

For example, as per this FUT Sheriff post on the new Ronaldo card here shows, he has taken a hit when it comes to his OVR rating; Ronaldo is now a 90 OVR card with 81 PAC (-6), 92 SHO (-1), and 85 DRI (-3).

Interestingly, though, as this FUT Sheriff post on the new Gakpo card shows, these stat changes aren’t universal. The PSV Gakpo is going to offer the same ratings as the Liverpool Gakpo.

If you’re looking to bolster your squad with one of the best FIFA 23 goalkeepers, it might be worth keeping an eye out for new Nottingham Forest signing Keylor Navas. He was an 88 OVR keeper at PSG, which could very-well maintained in the Premier League.

Or, if you’re looking for one of the best FIFA 23 midfielders, but you’re on a bit of a budget, Arsenal’s Jorginho might be a good place to look. There’s already an Arsenal-assigned Flashback SBC for him available. Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk is a rapid winger that, despite his low OVR, may be one of the best FIFA 23 wingers to get your hands on when it comes to a budget EPL squad.

We don’t know about you, but Chelsea’s new record-breaking signing Enzo Fernandez has to be one to look out for. You can find out more about this deal here:

At the moment, there’s no telling which of these cards are currently available in-game without them showing up on the transfer market – or a database site like FUTBIN. However, with several of these starting to appear, we have a funny feeling we won’t be waiting too long to see a wider selection of these newly-transfered players appear in packs. FIFA 23 TOTY was the first without Cristiano Ronaldo, but you might find you have more of a chance of picking him up now he’s at Al Nassr. So, it isn’t all bad.
