Elden Ring’s is a mighty good game if our review-in-progress is to be believed. The Lands Between will not only captivate you with visceral gameplay that is some of the best that FromSoftware has ever developed, but you will also slice and dice your way across its vast regions with a variety of the best weapons in the game.
In doing so, however, you might realise that Elden Ring is a hard game – it was created by the creators of Dark Souls after all. So, you might be wondering if there’s a convenient way to stop the game where you are so that you can grab a drink to quench your thirst before tackling the next boss fight, or maybe eat something – that’s good too.
This begs the question: can you pause in Elden Ring? We’ve put together a guide for you, so keep reading below If you want to find out all the details.
Can you pause in Elden Ring?
You cannot pause in Elden Ring. There is no official way to pause the game in the midst of playing. This means that you need to reach a Site of Grace or die before you can put the controller down and take a breather. You can also “save and quit,” but that’s not really pausing, is it?
Luckily, there is an unofficial way for console players to pause the game. If you’re playing on any kind of PlayStation or Xbox console, all you have to do is press the corresponding PlayStation or Xbox icon button on your controller to bring up the system menu. This will cause Elden Ring to pause by being suspended on the system level.
You might not be able to pause Elden Ring like you would other games, but at least there is a workaround that allows you to suspend the game. Check out our other guides if you’re looking for an Elden Ring walkthrough filled with useful information to help you out.
