A new Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creation tool has arrived, offering up the opportunity to get your character locked and loaded well ahead of the hotly-anticipated RPG’s March 22 release date. The downloadable app will enable you to customize and store both your dream Arisen and Main Pawn on PS5 and Xbox, ready to transfer to the final game.

“Up to five Arisen and five Pawns can be created,” producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi explains during the recent Capcom Highlights event. As Hirabayashi notes, “this is the perfect opportunity to prepare for the adventure before the release of the game.”

We all know how long it can take to perfect a character in the best RPG games – something you’ll no doubt be painfully aware of if you’ve spent any time with Baldur’s Gate 3’s expansive character creator. Now, you’ll be able to have every detail meticulously crafted in time for launch.

If you’re unable to download it right now, you can sneak a peek at the Dragon’s Dogma 2 character creation tool for yourself in the video below, or by heading over to the open-world game’s website here.

Of course, you’re going to need more than just your Main Pawn to survive your journey. According to Hirabayashi, content creators like Maximilian ‘Maximilian Dood’ Christensen, Krysta Yang, and ‘Snuffy’ have produced ‘Official Pawns’ for the new PS5 game and new Xbox game. Up to two of their creations can be hired, filling out your three-strong complement of Pawns.

From what we’ve been able to achieve with it so far, Dragon Dogma 2’s character creation tool is more than expansive enough to achieve pretty much anything you can imagine. Sporting plenty of detailed sliders to experiment with, we more than welcome the extra time given to us by Capcom – The Maker knows we’re going to need it.
