On the topic of loot, completing the Destiny 2 Crossfire challenge will net you extra Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares rewards, including Adept versions of the Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares weapons. If you’re up to the challenge, completing the Root of Nightmares Master difficulty is well worth the effort. It helps that the raid and most of the Master challenges are relatively easy compared to previous raids, though completing all the Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares challenges is sure to put your skills to the test.
How to beat the Destiny 2 Crossfire challenge
To complete the Crossfire challenge in Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares, players must shoot the diamond crux on the opposite side to jump the gap. If you’re a runner on the Light side, you’ll need another player on the Dark side to shoot the diamond crux for you, and vice versa.
Additionally, you have to use the launch pads to traverse the gap. Using techniques like sword and Well skating, alongside Strand grappling hooks, will fail the challenge. There’s no cheesing this encounter if you want to complete the Master mode challenge.
The best way to beat Crossfire is to designate a player on either side of the room to manage the relevant crux to avoid confusion and streamline the process. Besides having to shoot the crux on the opposite side of the room, the Scission encounter remains the same so complete it as you normally would.
That’s how to beat the Destiny 2 Crossfire challenge in Root of Nightmares Master difficulty. This is the second of four challenges added with the Master mode raid that will grant great new rewards. You’ll want the best Destiny 2 PvE weapons by your side if you’re taking on the Scission challenge with your team.
