Call of Duty: Warzone update includes a second DMR nerf

The latest update to Call of Duty: Warzone will be a huge sigh of relief for players as the monstrously overpowered DMR receives its second nerf and the troublesome stim glitch gets addressed.

According to the patch notes, which were captured by Charlie Intel before developers Raven Software took down its own announcement tweet, the DMR is getting tweaked in a number of areas that should finally stop it from being one of the best Warzone guns. The changes to the DMR include changing its “bullet penetration from sniper to AR”, decreasing its damage drop off range so it can’t smash people at long distance, and increased recoil. There’s also a tweak to damage multipliers.

While the first DMR nerf made next to no difference in dialling down its insane firepower, this one certainly looks more promising. Similar nerfs have been dished out to the DMR’s close cousin, the Type 63 tactical rifle.

Attachments for both the DMR and Type 63 have also received nerfs, to further pull them down from the top-tier.

Raven also says in the patch notes it has fixed the stim glitch that has plagued Warzone for the last few weeks. The glitch would give players unlimited stim shots, meaning they could sit in the storm and constantly heal in order to win the game.

With the DMR and stim glitch being the community’s two biggest bugbears recently, this patch has been eagerly anticipated. Here’s hoping that what is on paper is reflected in the gameplay.

You can find full patch notes for the update, which is live now in Warzone, below.
