You can no longer get or use the LAPA in Warzone because this version of the game was shut down. However, this guide will be updated and will be useful if the LAPA returns.
The LAPA SMG was in high demand when it debuted back in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War Season 6’s Halloween event. However, it wasn’t exactly straightforward to unlock.
The LAPA didn’t shred at super close range like the OTs 9 or MAC-10, but it was a great all-rounder that found itself a comfortable spot in our best Warzone guns tier list at the time.
With the removal of Black Ops Cold War’s integration with Warzone, its arsenal and all of its content were removed from the battle royale mode. That means that you can’t currently get the LAPA in Warzone anymore – though it could return to one of the best battle royale games on PS5 and Xbox in the future. Nevertheless, here’s how you unlocked the LAPA in Warzone back in the day.
Warzone LAPA unlock
The first way to unlock the LAPA was by completing in-game challenges that were tied to the 2021 Halloween event, The Haunting.
You could unlock the LAPA by completing all nine The Haunting challenges in the Ghosts of Verdansk mode that made up the event, similar to how the Sai melee weapon was given to players after completing all the challenges from The Numbers in Season 5.
These were:
- Wake the Dead – Play five matches of Ghosts of Verdansk
- Over My Dead Body – Finish Ghosts of Verdansk matches in the top 10 three times
- Good Exorcise – Eliminate 10 enemy Ghost players
- Life or Death – Eliminate 10 enemy Human players
- Scared to Death – Eliminate five enemy Human players while you are playing as a Ghost
- Boo! – As a Ghost, collect three souls or perform a Finishing Move on an enemy player to redeploy as your Operator
- Evil Has No Power Here – Use three Sacred Ground areas to reduce your Fear Meter
- Who’s There? – Answer three phones during matches
- What Are You Afraid Of? – Experience three Hallucinations while you have a full Fear Meter
Warzone LAPA blueprint
The second way to unlock the LAPA in Warzone was by purchasing a blueprint of the gun from the store. If you purchased the Terrible End bundle, you would get a LAPA blueprint called Abnormality. This also unlocked the LAPA for you to use in Warzone.
So that was how you got your hands on the LAPA SMG in Warzone. With its more balanced stats, the LAPA didn’t break the Warzone meta, but it was still a strong choice.
