You can no longer get the CARV.2 in Warzone because this version of the game was shut down. However, this guide will be updated and will come in handy if the CARV.2 ever returns.
The CARV.2 was one of the best additions in Season 3 of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Warzone. Belonging to the tactical rifle family, it naturally rose to the top of the foodchain almost right away as players clamored to unlock it as soon as they could.
As one of the best Warzone guns and also tearing up multiplayer in Black Ops Cold War at the time, it was one of the most used weapons during Season 3 and beyond. Unfortunately, however, once Black Ops Cold War was no longer integrated with Warzone, moving onto Modern Warfare 2 (2022) instead, the CARV.2 became inaccessible. That’s right, you can’t currently get this powerful rifle. Nevertheless, this guide will come in handy if the CARV.2 returns to the battle royale in the future.
How to unlock the CARV.2 in Warzone and Cold War
As was usually the case with mid-season weapon drops, the CARV.2 was obtainable in Warzone and Black Ops Cold War via an in-game challenge or by purchasing a blueprint from the store.
The in-game challenge required you to rapidly kill two or more players in ten separate games. As per usual, you had to complete these games for progress to count, so you couldn’t leave your games early to speed through it. With Black Ops Cold War’s traditional multiplayer matches being significantly shorter than Warzone’s, as well as multi-kills being much easier to bag here, we recommended you beat the challenge in multiplayer if you owned it.
There was also a separate challenge in Zombies at the time that would unlock the CARV.2 for you in all modes. Using tactical rifles, you had to rack up 250 longshot kills. We recommended jumping into Outbreak to complete this if you wanted to go down the Zombies route.
If you wanted to get your CARV.2 straight away without slogging through the challenge, however, you could also spend your CoD Points in the store to get the Plastik Prototype bundle. This bundle contained a Legendary-tier blueprint of the CARV.2 called Konsole.
So that’s how you could get your hands on the CARV.2 in Black Ops Cold War and Warzone back when it ruled the meta. It was certainly worth the middling amount of effort required to unlock it. However, we can’t deny being a little sad that it’s no longer available, though we’ll be right there if it ever returns to the battle royale game.
