We know it isn’t always obvious that Warzone 2 is one of the best battle royale games available at the moment, but it looks like Activision are making some rather interesting changes to Warzone 2 in the next update – changes that might just change your mind about it. Ahead of the Season 4 patch notes, media outlet Insider Gaming has revealed two major changes coming to the shooter: AI are being removed, and everyone’s getting a health boost. If you have been putting off jumping back into WZ2, now might be the perfect time to sort out your best loadouts. This update really could be a game-changer.
As per “Insider Gaming sources” – so take this all with a pinch of salt – the Warzone 2 Season 4 update will see AI soldiers completely removed from Strongholds in the battle royale modes. With these Strongholds now becoming active during infiltration, and inactive Strongholds also highlighted on the “TacMap”, these locations could become hotspots in Al Mazrah, Ashika Island, and new Warzone 2 map Vondel moving forwards.
However, details are light and it remains to be seen how much more value these locations will provide players now that they’re devoid of AI life. If the Vondel gameplay trailer below is anything to go by, though, it doesn’t look like we’ll all need to drop onto Strongholds to find action-packed battle royale gameplay.
Thankfully, though, if you do fancy chancing it at a Stronghold, you might last a little longer against your enemies. Why? Well, Insider Gaming is also reporting a universal health increase for players in Warzone 2. From Season 4 onwards, “player health will be increased from 100 [health points] to 150” health points. This means that, when fully-equipped with armor plating, players are going to have a collective health pool of 300 health points.
What is this going to mean, though? Well, it should make the current TTK (time to kill) less punishing and offer players more opportunities to escape danger when under fire. However, as much as we would like to think that this is going to make all the best Warzone 2 guns over-powered, this is a universal increase and everyone will still be on the same health. So, we don’t think this is going to make any weapon feel any more – or less – powerful moving forwards.
It’s also worth noting that there’s no information currently available on whether this change is battle royale-specific, or something players can expect to see in DMZ too. That means this could make AI a lot easier to handle in that mode, given that you will have more health to play with.
That being said, the Warzone 2 meta is most-likely going to shift again at the start of Season 4 – especially when you consider all the new weapons on the way. So, be prepared to try something new when you jump into this battle royale game again next. We’ll make sure to keep you updated if anything changes when the official Season 4 patch notes arrive shortly.
