We’ve all got a wishlist of characters we’d love to see in Warzone 2. However, since 2019’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare rebooted the popular FPS franchise, not every fan favourite can make an appearance on the battlefield. Modern Warfare 2 introduced already iconic characters such as Alejandro Vargas and Valeria Garza and we’ve been hoping to step into their boots for months. Now, Warzone 2 Season 3 is finally bringing the goods, but COD fans are hoping the Valeria operator fulfils a specific requirement.
Soldiers on the war-torn streets of Warzone 2‘s Al Mazrah and Ashika Island are ready to bear arms as Valeria Garza, but COD Redditor ‘Buttrcup’ expresses that they believe “everyone [is] wanting a Graves skin, and I’m just sitting here waiting for an El Sin Nombre skin.” If you haven’t had the chance to sample the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, then you may have missed out on the excellent mission El Sin Nombre.
The eleventh mission in the latest array of COD missions, it sees players guide Task Force 141 into the dangerous headquarters of a drug cartel, in search of the titular El Sin Nombre – revealed to be none other than Valeria Garza. Her introduction is a bold and memorable one, showcasing the character’s ruthless mentality. While Valeria’s aesthetic throughout the game is normally that of tactical gear, Valeria’s El Sin Nombre appearance shows off the character’s distinct tattoos.

Though the Redditor acknowledges they a fault in their attached image, they hope that developer Infinity Ward doesn’t re-hash Mara’s Deathdealer skin: “Just noticed the screenshot I considered posting (the interrogation scene) has basically the same outfit as the Deathdealer skin. I’m def open to most things… just no skulls or masks, please.”
Warzone 2 players will know that operators such as John ‘Soap’ MacTavish, Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley, Kyle ‘Gaz’ Garrick and Captain John Price all donned various masks in their initial appearance in the popular battle royale game. However, playing as them is only granted through purchasing the Vault Edition of Modern Warfare 2 or getting hold of specific COD store bundles.
Others are hoping that Valeria’s skin doesn’t follow suit, as COD player ‘BleedingUranium’ says: “Agreed, the skull aesthetic is bleh to me, and so many of the MW2 skins would be great if they didn’t have some odd mask or similar stuck on.” With the Warzone 2 Season 3 release date approaching Ashika Island, we’ll keep our fingers crossed that Valeria’s arrival does the character justice.
