When is the Warzone 2 Ranked release date? That’s a question that’s been on Call of Duty players’ lips for a while now, as even Warzone 2’s predecessor went its entire life without a dedicated ranked mode. However, the wait for some hardcore competitive Warzone is almost over.

In Ranked Play, you’ll need to make use of the best Warzone 2 loadouts if you hope to reach the top skill divisions. Keeping on top of the Warzone 2 meta will be just as important as honing your skills. If you’re excited for the competitive game mode to arrive, we’ve got all of the details for you.

Warzone Ranked release date

The Warzone Ranked release date will arrive during Warzone 2 Season 3 Reloaded, which begins on May 10. Ranked Play will launch in a beta form initially, according to the official Season 3 Reloaded blog post, with a full launch arriving in Season 4.

It hasn’t been explicitly stated that Ranked Play will start on the first day of Season 3 Reloaded, so once an exact date for the release of the Warzone Ranked Play beta is confirmed, we will keep you posted. However, with Season 4 of Warzone 2 scheduled to start around June 14, Ranked will be live for players at some point well before that date.

Despite Warzone being one of the best battle royale games, it’s been a long old wait for a ranked mode, but that wait is almost over.

Warzone Ranked Play ranking system

In Warzone Ranked Play, Warzone 2 players will be pitted against similarly skilled players in battle royale matches. Depending on your performance, which will be judged on your assists, eliminations, and overall match placement, you will receive a certain amount of points towards your Skill Rating after a match. Increasing your Skill Rating will see you move up the ranks, or “Skill Divisions” as they’re being called.

There are a total of eight rank tiers in Warzone Ranked Play, ranging from Bronze all the way up to Top 250. Every tier from Bronze to Crimson has three sub-ranks (e.g. Gold 1, 2, and 3).

Here are the Warzone Ranked Play ranks, alongside their Skill Rating thresholds:

  • Bronze: 0–899 SR
  • Silver: 900–2,099 SR
  • Gold: 2,100–3,599 SR
  • Platinum: 3,600–5,399 SR
  • Diamond: 5,400–7,499 SR
  • Crimson: 7,500–9,999 SR
  • Iridescent: 10,000+ SR
  • Top 250: The 250 Iridescent players with the highest SR overall

To enter a ranked match, you’ll also have to pay some of your SR as an entry fee. This increases as you climb up the Skill Divisions. Here’s a breakdown of the entry costs:

  • Bronze 1-3: No cost
  • Silver 1: –10 SR
  • Silver 2: –14 SR
  • Silver 3: –18 SR
  • Gold 1: –23 SR
  • Gold 2: –28 SR
  • Gold 3: –33 SR
  • Platinum 1: –39 SR
  • Platinum 2: –45 SR
  • Platinum 3: –51 SR
  • Diamond 1: –58 SR
  • Diamond 2: –65 SR
  • Diamond 3: –72 SR
  • Crimson 1: –80 SR
  • Crimson 2: –90 SR
  • Crimson 3: –100 SR
  • Iridescent and Top 250: –110 SR, and extra -10 SR for every 500 SR you are above 10,000, up to a max Deployment Fee of –210 SR

It is also worth noting that while Warzone 2 shares many systems with Modern Warfare 2, like its battle pass system, the two games will have completely separate ranked modes.

Warzone Ranked rewards

Warzone Ranked rewards will be on offer to Warzone 2 players that dive into the battle royale’s competitive mode. These include vehicle skins, weapon camos, blueprints, and operator skins. Ranked rewards are dished out via a separate rewards track, where you earn stars depending on your placement in a match in order to progress to the next level of the rewards track.

For the beta throughout Season 3 Reloaded, Warzone ranked rewards are on offer every five levels. For hitting the max level of 50, you’ll get the ranked-exclusive operator skin shown in the image above.

There are also ranked-exclusive rewards tied to challenges involving placements and eliminations. Completing the placements challenge will earn you a weapon blueprint, and completing the eliminations challenge earns you a camo you can apply to any weapon.

When Ranked Play fully launches in Warzone 2 Season 4, even more rewards will be on offer, including ones that will reflect your actual Skill Division, similarly to the Apex Legends ranked rewards system.

Warzone Ranked ruleset

Warzone Ranked Play will have a custom ruleset that will make the battle royale experience feel a little different to a regular Warzone 2 match. Full details on the ruleset are expected soon, and we’ll include it in full in this guide once it is made public. However, here are the Warzone Ranked Play ruleset details we know about so far:

  • Party Size: Trios
  • Map: Al Mazrah
  • Public Event restrictions (e.g. No Firesales)
  • Vehicle restrictions (e.g. No Heavy Choppers)
  • Restricted gameplay elements (e.g. no multi-circles, changes to redeploy mechanics)
  • Buy Station Inventory Adjustments
  • No throwing rocks in the Gulag

Charlie Intel also claims that Riot Shields will be restricted in Ranked Play.

That’s everything you need to know about the Warzone Ranked release date in Warzone 2. Players have been crying out for a ranked mode for years, and this should help elevate Warzone 2 as one of the best competitive FPS games out there.
