Call of Duty is detailing what Warzone 2 players can expect to see from DMZ in Season 4 and it’s good news if you like to grind. Why? Well, in Season 4, you’ll be able to tackle Urgent Missions in Warzone DMZ; if you’re not sure what that means, you’ll be pleased to know it means more opportunities to earn Faction Reputation and rewards. However, that also means you’re going to need to have access to your best Warzone 2 weapons daily – as these missions aren’t going to be season-long like the rest of them.
Ahead of the Warzone 2 Season 4 release date, Call of Duty has confirmed that Urgent Missions are coming to Warzone DMZ. As explained by this Call of Duty blog post, these will be “limited-time missions” that are unlocked through “upgrade objectives in the FOB” – a new feature that reorganizes DMZ’s upgrades and equipment.
“Urgent Missions will rotate and offer rewards for eager and efficient Operators on a daily basis”.
So, what does that mean? Well, it means that these are seemingly going to be daily Faction missions that can help you boost up your Faction Reputation level while you’re grinding through the seasonal missions.
What’s ‘Faction Reputation’, though, we hear you ask? Well, this is a new system that forces players to earn access to the next Faction Tier – which will contain that faction’s next story mission and in-game rewards. With access to both season-long Standard Missions and the new Urgent Missions, DMZ fanatics will want to check into DMZ on the regular if they want to make the most of all the content on offer.
Elsewhere in DMZ, Call of Duty has introduced a Wallet feature that players can unlock in the FOB. As the name suggests, this “provides [players with] the ability to exfil and store vash outside of the world”. So, if you find yourself exfiltrating DMZ games with a lot of cash, this feature will allow you to save some of that to take into your next game. We don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound so bad to us.
Oh, and the new Warzone 2 map Vondel is going to be available in DMZ with new dynamic fog. It’s going to be a mid-sized map, somewhere between the size of Al Mazrah and Ashika Island – so, there’s plenty of space to explore. You can find out more about the Vondel POI locations right here. Oh, and it’s important to remember that DMZ is still technically in beta. We know that isn’t an excuse, but that’s why all these features that you feel should have been there in the first place are only being introduced in Season 4.
Is Warzone 2 one of the best games of all time? Not quite, but you could argue that it’s becoming one of the best competitive FPS games out there at the moment. However, DMZ isn’t about that. DMZ is about navigating an AI-filled map to complete your missions before you’re swallowed up by a radioactive storm. Now, there’s more missions to complete.
