Call of Duty: Vanguard Sten best class setup, attachments, and more

Here’s how to make the best Sten loadout in Vanguard

Vanguard Sten loadout: A silver Sten submachine gun set against a black background

If you’re going to be jumping into Call of Duty: Vanguard then you’re probably keen to find the gun that suits you best. Luckily, we’ve put together some of the best loadouts for a range of guns available in the game. For this one, we’re taking a look at the Sten, an SMG that offers run-and-gun fun to take out the opposition.

There’s not many standout SMGs in the game and the MP40 seemingly holds the top spot for its impressive versatility. But, if you’re looking to improve the range and recoil of the Sten and make it your SMG of choice, there are plenty of attachments for the job, and they’ll turn this mediocre submachine gun into quite the competitor in this weapon class.

With Vanguard’s staggering new attachment system, there’s ten different slots to fill up. It’s the highest level of weapon customisation yet, meaning you’ll want to pay attention to all the attachments on offer and pick the right ones for you. Of course, it depends on how you like to play, but we’ve got a suggestion below from one top Call of Duty content creator that will suit most players. This Sten loadout doesn’t even need to take advantage of all ten slots but sometimes you can have too much of a good thing.

Here’s the best Vanguard Sten class we’ve found.

Best Sten Vanguard class

  • Muzzle: M9 Flash Hider
  • Barrel: Hockenson 348MM B13S
  • Optic: None
  • Stock: Gawain Para
  • Underbarrel: Carver Foregrip
  • Magazine: 9MM Para 50 Round Drums
  • Ammo Type: FMJ Rounds
  • Rear Grip: Pine Tar Grip
  • Proficiency: Acrobatic
  • Kit: Fast Melee

This is the preferred Sten Vanguard loadout used by Call of Duty content creator ‘Paradox’ that focuses on fast kills and honing that recoil control on one of the game’s bouncier weapons. It’s hard to convince players not to opt for the MP40, but with a loadout like this, you might want to give it a try.

Paradox runs without an optic attachment and prefers not to bother with a barrel until you’ve levelled up and unlocked the Hockenson 348MM B13S at level 50. If you’re keen to equip an optic, we’d recommend the Slate Reflector.

So, that’s our best Sten Vanguard loadout. We’ll keep this guide updated when the full game comes out in November and, of course, there’s always a trusty MP40 Vanguard class if you don’t get along with the Sten.
