When it comes to completing the MW3 Zombies missions and figuring out the story behind the Extraction Zone in the best FPS game right now, many of the objectives are fairly trivial. But for those of you struggling to find and destroy this convoy, despite using the best MW3 loadouts, here’s what you’ll need to do.
How to find the Mercenary Convoy in MW3 Zombies
To find the Mercenary Convoy in MW3 Zombies, you’ll want to head to the highway surrounding the Extraction Zone and drive around it in a vehicle. Over time, the Mercernary Convoy will spawn in, marked as three armored trucks moving on the map. Be warned, only one squad can complete the mission per game.
There’s usually one armored truck that is also patrolling the highways around the map. This is not the Mercenary Convoy and is likely a separate boss.
It’s very likely that, to complete the Interceptor mission, you’ll have to attempt this numerous times. Not only have we had bugs in Zombies where our missions aren’t completed successfully, but it also can be hard to defeat groups of soldiers. For this reason, we recommend dropping into the game in a matchmade squad if you haven’t got any friends to join you, as it would definitely be a challenging fight alone.
How to destroy Mercenary Convoy in MW3 Zombies
Despite the task description, you don’t actually need to destroy the Mercenary Convoy. You can either kill all of the soldiers in the convoy and loot the Mercenary Stronghold Keycard out of a cache in the flatbed of one of the trucks, or you can destroy it if you wish and pick the Keycard up from the remains.

Before finding and taking on the Mercenary Convoy, we’d suggest getting some good gear, upgrading your guns using Aether Tools or Aetherium Crystals, and exfilling, as you’re unlikely going to beat it if another team is more prepared first. Then, on the next match, you’ve got better gear when you go up against the convoy.
As the trucks are armored, we wouldn’t suggest attempting to destroy them. It can be a waste of ammo or gear and comes with the same results. However, if you like causing vehicles to explode just as much as we do, you can always find RPGs or the RGL-80 grenade launcher which should do the trick.
