After leaks galore over the last few months, Infinity Ward has finally announced that Modern Warfare 2‘s multiplayer reveal will take place in September (as expected), right before the multiplayer beta is set to start.
The multiplayer reveal, which will be included as a part of a brand new event called Call of Duty Next, will take place on September 15. It will also share the stage with Warzone 2, new information about Warzone Mobile, and some surprises, according to Activision.
In addition to a presentation on the three games, including Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, a number of big streamers and content creators will be at the event, in-person, playing the game. Presumably, they will all be streaming it as well, which means that you should have more than enough Call of Duty to keep you satisfied.
In addition to the announcement, of Call of Duty Next, Infinity Ward and Activision revealed the first multiplayer map for the game, Grand Prix.
This 6v6 map takes place in an urban race circuit and will be one of the maps available in the beta on all platforms. You can watch the trailer right here.
With the early access PlayStation beta, starting the day after Call of Duty Next, we seem to be getting a big dump of information to build up hype during the beta’s initial launch, rather than a reveal being staggered compared to last year with Warzone Pacific and Vanguard.
There is just over a month till Call of Duty Next takes place, so unless something leaks September should be a packed month for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 details.
