Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Infinity is shaping up to be the single-most ambitious title from the developer to date – if the rumours are to be believed. There’s so much to look forward to and fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise are in for a treat. We know a Basim-led Assassin’s Creed game is essential for more than one reason – and we’re glad we can start talking about an Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date – but, Assassin’s Creed Infinity is going to be on a different level., especially with the Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe Witch Trials game.

Before we delve into the Project Hexe setting itself, you might be wondering what Project Hexe actually is and how it relates to the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Infinity. Well, it’s actually quite a lot simpler than it might seem at first. From what Ubisoft has shared about Assassin’s Creed Infinity so far, it sounds as though it’s going to be a live-service platform the developer uses to present almost every Assassin’s Creed title going forwards – sort of like a hub for Ubisoft’s upcoming AC games.

Project Hexe, which we’re discussing here, is one of the upcoming games that will be launching through Assassin’s Creed Infinity – and it’s one of the most exciting. That’s why we need to talk about the Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe game set in the Witch Trials era of Europe below.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity Hexe Witch Trials game Setting

During the Assassin’s Creed Showcase at Ubisoft’s Ubisoft Forward on September 10, the developer offered fans an insight into Assassin’s Creed Infinity’s Project Hexe with a short teaser.

While it does not obviously confirm the game’s setting, as you can see for yourself below, pre-announcement reports suggest that the game is going to feature a 16th-century central European setting which will focus primarily on the infamous witch-hunting of the period. You know what that means? The Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe setting is most-likely to be in areas of the Holy Roman Empire.

While this witch hunting phenomenon was something almost every European nation experienced in one way or another throughout the 15th and 16th centuries, it was perhaps its most violent in the areas that make up modern-day Germany – and regions like the Duchy of Bavaria, Duchy of Swabia, and Lombardy are where we think we might see Project Hexe take place.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise is yet to explore Germany and its history in any meaningful capacity and it’s widely accepted in modern history on the European witch hunts of the early Elizabethan Era that several waves of quite substantial witch hunts were launched in southern Germany throughout the 1560s and 1570s.

You can find the teaser relating to Assassin’s Creed Infinity’s Project Hexe at the 26-minute mark in the video below:

This could mean that the Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe setting features major settlements spread throughout the Holy Roman Empire as a whole – such as Cologne, Nuremberg, and Augsburg. However, it could also mean that we’re offered an insight into larger settlements in the southern areas of the Holy Roman Empire – such as Salzburg, Milan, and Constance.

We just don’t know what to expect from Assassin’s Creed Infinity and the Project Hexe setting yet – and we might not find out anything solid for some time. However, there are reports that Ubisoft is hiding some interesting details in the aforementioned teaser for Project Hexe – so, it might be worth watching that a few times while we wait for more information.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe game release date speculation

If you’re looking for information about the Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe game release date, we have some bad news for you when it comes to Project Hexe. At the moment, we just don’t know when this game is going to come out.

Assassin’s Creed Infinity’s Project Hexe doesn’t have a release date at the moment and we could see it get one set for a 2025 or 2026 release – or perhaps even later when Infinity launches fully. Reports suggest that Ubisoft only entered production on the title in July 2021, so there’s still a long way to go before we get our hands on it.

Even though we don’t know too much about the Assassin’s Creed Infinity Project Hexe game – or AC Infinity itself, this is all sounding too good to be true. This game could easily be one of the best PS5 games available – and one of the best Xbox games available – when it eventually releases. Of course, that Assassin’s Creed Infinity release date is a long way away.
