New Assassin’s Creed Mirage leaks have emerged online that seem to reinforce what we know about the next Assassin’s Creed game so far – while also offering interesting details when it comes to the game’s parkour traversal and RPG systems. However, a faction of fans is casting doubt on whether the contents of these leaks are true or not. Shared by an Assassin’s Creed fan with no history of leaking online, there is reason to be skeptical. However, the small tidbits of information that have been shared do line up with what we know about Assassin’s Creed Mirage so far – and they could mean that Mirage might be one of the best Assassin’s Creed games yet.
Taking to social media platform Twitter with an “ask me anything” tweet after claiming to have “seen [Assassin’s Creed] Mirage”, virtual photographer ‘G-Assassin‘ has shared that this game will feature “brutal” kill animations, both “back [and] side eject” parkour moves, and a photomode at launch. With Valhalla featuring dismemberment alongside an average photomode, and expectations that traversal will be improved, these all seem fairly standard nuggets of information.
However, most interestingly, this Assassin’s Creed fan has also claimed that Assassin’s Creed Mirage won’t have a level system – which might come as a surprise to some of you.
With rumours and reports all suggesting that this title is ditching the variety of RPG systems that dominated the last three Assassin’s Creed games – Valhalla, Odyssey, and Origins – the lack of a levelling system (if true) does reinforce that.
That doesn’t mean it’s going to be a complete return to the series’ origins, though. Weapons will reportedly still have stats “like in Origins” – although this is something that has been present in almost every Assassin’s Creed title in some capacity – and the gameplay reportedly appears to be something of a blend between Origins and Assassin’s Creed Unity. With information suggesting that this is being built on the same game engine as Valhalla, it does make a lot of sense that this game would still play quite a bit like that trilogy of games – even if it’s drawing inspiration from older titles like Unity.
As expected, it also seems like Assassin’s Creed Mirage will pay homage to the series’ origins, with ‘G-Assassin’ claiming that there will be story elements related to both Assassin’s Creed – the first one – and the legacy left behind by Bayek and Aya. Their claim that “we won’t see the events of [Assassin’s Creed Valhalla] also check out, as this game is a prequel to Valhalla. That much you can tell from the reveal trailer, which you can watch below:
While we don’t know all the details, we do understand that this Assassin’s Creed game will follow Basim’s journey through his Assassin training and the assimilation of Loki’s hugr into his own. (If you’re wondering whether the Assassin’s Creed Mirage trailer’s hidden djinn is really Loki? We think it is – and that’s a spoiler for Valhalla, sorry.)
We know official information about the Assassin’s Creed Mirage release date is light, but rumours that the leaked Assassin’s Creed Mirage launch date being reportedly hit with a delay still suggest that this game is coming in a matter of months – not years. So, we certainly think there’s a build out there where someone could uncover this information. A Ubisoft Forward is planned for June 12, after all, where we’re expecting a lot more officially about Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Although, that information aside, it’s still hard to ascertain how truthful these leaks are. In this Reddit thread on the leaks, there are claims that ‘G-Assassin’ “was one of the few that were allowed to see gameplay” – but, no one can pinpoint why that is. There are theories, and quite a few people dismissing these leaks, but we think there’s more truth in them than falsehoods. Just take a look at GamesRadar’s interview with creative director Stéphane Boudon if you want to know why we think that.

Is this going to be one of the best games of all time? We can’t say, but it certainly could be one of the best PS5 RPG games and best Xbox RPG games out there when it arrives – if what we are being told is true. Basim is a fantastic protagonist and an Assassin’s Creed title that blends the old with the new could offer us the best of both worlds when it comes to this incredible series.
