If you’re looking forward to Respawn Entertainment’s next Apex Legends update, then you’re going to need to check out the brand new Apex Legends Ignite trailer. Not only is this another fantastic cinematic from EA (and production company Dark Burn Creative), it also shows of Apex Legends’ Conduit abilities – oh, and Revenant sings a bit of a rock ballad. Heartwarming messages aside, that alone makes it well worth a watch.

Respawn Entertainment’s Apex Legends is one of the best battle royale games out there right now and, whether you think this is one of the best FPS games or not, it seems to be going from strength to strength character-wise with Conduit. When she was revealed earlier in the month, everyone was saying the same thing – in the best possible way. Now, though, we have our first look at her ability kit and what she’ll bring to the table if you choose to try climbing the Apex Legends ranks as her.

As you can see for yourself below, it looks like the leaks were largely right when it came to her abilities; although the cinematic doesn’t make things as clear as it could. Conduit is going to be able to bolster her allies shields (as seen at around the 01:30 mark). With a battery level shown in the trailer, this could be something that’s done on a charge meter, and not an ability that’s activated once before a cooldown. If so, players will be able to be much more reactive to the situations they’re met with in-game.

It also looks like she’ll be able to tether enemies to a single spot with a throwable – somewhat similar to Ash’s Arc Snare (as seen at around the 01:45 mark). This could be her Ultimate Ability, based on the scale we’re shown. If not, we can’t help but feel like Ash is being a little hard done by.

From what we can tell, Conduit may also be able to over-charge ally shields to protect them from high amounts of damage for a limited time. This is slightly speculative, but the scene at the 02:20 mark would suggest that she can do more than just top-up her allies shields.

The trailer also contains a Disney-like musical number from Conduit, a rock ballad from Revenant, and a reference to the iconic “Mozambique here” callout – which is much more of a meme than a useful bit of information nowadays. It’s one of the best Apex Legends trailers we’ve seen in a long time and a fantastic insight into Conduit’s character more generally.

It’s important to note, though, that we don’t know all the details just yet, as Apex Legends’ official site hasn’t been updated with her full ability kit and official legend page just yet. So, for example, we don’t know how her throwable is different from an Arc Snare just yet. Although, we think that something that drains enemy shields would be fitting given the fact her other ability clearly bolsters her allies’ shields.

Either way, all of this makes her sound like someone who’s going to secure a spot at the top of our Apex Legends tier list very soon – and that’s exciting. The Apex Legends Season 19 release date is almost upon us and a fresh gameplay trailer is dropping on October 26. This should give us all the information we’re after following this fantastic cinematic launch trailer.
