It’s time to lock and load, legends – there’s fighting to be done.  Respawn Entertainment has finally announced the Gaiden event for Apex Legends – something that leakers have known about for some time – and along with it comes confirmation that the Armed and Dangerous LTM is making a return. Sure, it might not be Apex Legends’ Control mode, but it’s a fun spin on Apex Legends’ traditional battle royale gameplay.

In the Armed and Dangerous LTM, players are thrown into an otherwise standard battle royale match with one key difference: the only weapons in the loot pool are shotguns and snipers. Oh, and loot in general is going to be a lot harder to come by than usual.

Armed and Dangerous is an LTM where a Legend Abilities matter a lot more than usual and players are going to have to think much more strategically about pushing enemy squads if they want to win. Sometimes, you’re just not going to have the weapons to deal with your opponents.

The Armed and Dangerous LTM is going to be available in Apex Legends from July 19, 2022, until August 2, 2022. The maps in this playlist’s rotation will be World’s Edge, Olympus, and Storm Point – much like the standard battle royale playlists.

Elsewhere in the Gaiden event, Apex Legends players can look forward to a selection of anime-inspired skins hitting the in-game store and two week-long reward tracks offering up in-game cosmetics and battle pass stars. You can find out all about it on the Apex Legends blog right here.

Bangalore is also the lucky recipient of Apex Legends’ second Prestige Skin. To unlock this, though, you’ll need to collect all 40 event-related cosmetic items. So… It’s going to take a bit of time – and money – to do.

If you were hoping for a shake up of the Apex Legends tier list, you’ll be saddened to know that there isn’t going to be a balancing update with this event – however, we’re not far away from one. Especially if you consider the fact that Valkyrie soared to the top of Apex Legends’ pick rate charts after the ALGS earlier this month.
