Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 release date window
The Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 release date is set for Winter 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as revealed at Summer Game Fest 2023. We expect it to likely be released around November or December with this timeframe given.
Unfortunately, Space Marine 2 will not be released on last-gen consoles, making it one of the first Warhammer games to be a current-gen exclusive title. Hopefully, though, this will result in the game taking full advantage of the power of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 story
As a Space Marine, Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2’s story allows you to embody the superhuman skill and brutality of a Space Marine, unleashing your abilities and arsenal on the Tyranid hordes.
More details on the story haven’t been revealed yet, but we do know that Captain Titus will be played by Clive Standen, who you might recognize from the TV show Vikings.
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 gameplay
Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 is a third-person shooter and hack ‘n’ slash game, so expect fast-paced and brutal action against hordes of Tyranids in the name of the Emperor.
The Summer Game Fest 2023 Space Marine 2 gameplay trailer showcased a lot of what to expect from the game, namely fast-paced and brutal action against hordes of Tyranids. The original game was already very action heavy, with Bolter fire left, right, and centre against Orks. But now, Space Marine 2 somehow takes it up a notch with much more fluid controls and animations.
Perhaps most excitingly, it was confirmed at Summer Game Fest 2023 that Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 multiplayer co-op is a brand new addition in the sequel. Players will be able to play the full campaign experience with up to three players, meaning you can fight for the Emperor alongside two friends. While Space Marine 1 featured both a multiplayer mode and co-op mode, Space Marine 2 brings the action to the story campaign for the first time.
