Get ready to step into the ring in Undisputed later this year, as Steel City Interactive confirms a console release date on PS5 and Xbox.

Developer Steel City Interactive has been refining its promising fighter Undisputed for a while now, but the wait for the spiritual Fight Night successor will pay off later this year. Now, the studio is preparing to let PS5 and Xbox players into the ring, as it confirms the Undisputed console release date – and the wait will be pretty painless, unlike your time in the arena.

Mark down Friday, October 11, 2024, in your calendars for the new PS5 game and new Xbox game, as that’s when Undisputed will finally launch on consoles. Undisputed has been in early access on other platforms since January last year, and impressed players with its realistic depiction of boxing in previews at Gamescom too. Aside from the likes of EA’s UFC series, there’s a real gap for Undisputed to steal the thunder from its most notable relative – Fight Night.

Known to include some of the best fighting games ever, like Fight Night Round 3, EA hasn’t developed a new entry since 2011s Fight Night Champion – despite positive acclaim for the fresh direction it took. Similar to the skating game renaissance in recent years, with titles like Skater XL, Session, and the upcoming Skate reboot, Undisputed could be the spark that this neglected genre needs. It’ll certainly have a promising start on consoles, as Steel City Interactive recently acquired $20 million in funding for the sports game.

According to a recent statement, reported by Forbes, CEO Ash Habib expresses that the game’s investors “share our vision to bring boxing back to video games and deliver a world-beating, authentic game that does justice to the sport we all love.” To mark the occasion, you can watch the brand-new console focused teaser trailer, which is absolutely soaked in sweat and fighting glory. However, we’re partial to a bit of character customization, so we’ll definitely be rinsing the game’s Career Mode to rise to the top. Undisputed is also available to pre-order right now, whether you’re eager to get the standard or deluxe edition. Here’s what you get with the latter:

  • The Fighter Pack: Jaime Munguia, Regis Prograis, Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez, Dmitry Bivol, Caleb Plant and Julio Cesar Chavez, along with alternate ring attire for each
  • The Apparel Pack: Alternate ring attire for Claressa Shields, Canelo Alvarez, Oleksandr Usyk, Katie Taylor, Tyson Fury and Amir Khan
  • The Era Pack: Three young fighter versions – Tyson Fury ’09, Canelo Alvarez ’11 and Muhammad Ali ’64
  • Play Early: Play Undisputed 3 days early

Undisputed will also boast a roster of over 70 fighters at launch, including the likes of the aforementioned Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, Oleksandr Usyk, alongside iconic fighters like Muhammed Ali and Sugar Ray Robinson.

In other gaming news, GTA 6’s new Fall 2025 release window will see it face off against Call of Duty, and Microsoft is reportedly pushing for Xbox exclusives to land on PS5 in the future.
