Horror fans rejoice, because The Quarry pre-orders are now available. This game is essentially an interactive horror movie, full of homages to the likes of Friday the 13th, Deliverance, and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that will put a big smile on the faces of fans of the genre.
Aside from a few small combat sections, The Quarry is almost entirely a movie where you have to make decisions about how the characters will respond to the situations they’re in – similar, to some extent, to what Telltale Games does. The storyline sees you taking control of a group of nine camp counsellors who need to survive a night at Hackett’s Quarry, and depending on your decisions, you can enjoy up to 186 different endings. It’s pretty impressive, so The Quarry pre-orders and pre-order bonuses are going to look pretty appealing to lots of gamers.
If you ever feel like you’d rather just watch it as a movie, you have that option too, and all you need to do is set all of their personality configurations so that they will respond automatically in the ways you’d like them to when faced with a choice. Pre-ordering the standard edition of game will get you it on the release date (June 10), as well as a nifty extra little bonus: the Horror History Visual Filter Pack. - Death Rewind System: did a character you like die? Well, the Deluxe Edition gives you instant access to the Death Rewind system, which, you guessed it, allows you to rewind deaths and make different decisions.
- Gorefest Movie Mode: when watching the game in this mode, you can look forward to “an abundance of death, dismemberment, and buckets of blood.”
- ‘80s themed character outfits: along with the ‘80s Horror filter, these can help complete the ‘80s movie aesthetic, if that’s what you’re after.
