You can beat Star Wars Jedi Survivor’s toughest boss without attacking

If you're having trouble beating the Spawn of Oggdo in Star Wars Jedi Survivor on Xbox, PS5, and PC, there's a way you can "enlist" some help for the fight.

Star Wars Jedi Survivor Spawn of Boggdo boss tactic: an image of Cal with a lightsaber from the action RPG

The Spawn of Oggdo is, without a doubt, one of the toughest boss battles you’ll be thrown into as Cal Kestis in Star Wars Jedi Survivor. It’s not an impossible task, but a combination of high-damage unblockable attacks and that infamous Oggdo Bogdo tongue grab make it something that can take you quite a bit of time. However, as we all know, a true Jedi should always look to solve problems without their lightsaber. So, that’s what one Star Wars Jedi Survivor player has done – and it really is one tactic we wish we knew when we dropped into the Spawn of Oggdo’s lair.

Expressing that they’re simply “not skilled enough” to go toe-to-toe with the Spawn of Oggdo, Jedi Survivor player ‘Anonymous_SG28′ decided to take advantage of Cal’s improved Force abilities to enlist some help – albeit unwillingly – to help with the fearsome creature.

As you can see for yourself below, you can make battle with two Bedlam Smashers on the platform above the entrance to the Spawn of Oggdo’s lair. Using an improved Force Lift, and a powerful Force Push, you’re able to knock these two Smashers down onto the lower platform and then into the Spawn of Oggdo’s lair.

Also dealing largely in high-damage unblockable attacks, getting these two Bedlam Smashers isn’t going to be as easy as it could be. However, it’s certainly going to be easier than battling the Spawn of Oggdo for the umteenth time – and, if anything, it’s good research ahead of your next holotactics game in Pyloon’s Saloon.

Of course, there’s no guarantee that these two Bedlam Smashers will be able to tackle the Spawn of Oggdo themselves – as these combat situations can go a number of ways. However, at the very least, they’ll weaken it up. If anything, you can then take advantage of this cheesy strategy from ‘Sorry_Bar3455‘ to finish the Spawn of Oggdo off – if you’re still waiting outside the lair.

For this one, all you need is Cal’s Blaster combat stance and the Charged Shot equipped – which is the default alternate fire option for the stance. You can pick up more from Caij in Pyloon’s with Bounty Pucks, but this is the best one for high-health bosses like the Spawn of Oggdo.

No proud of this but had to be done 🔫🔫

We know this isn’t the most glamarous tactic to beating the Spawn of Oggdo, but a Jedi must strive to preserve life at all times – in this case, it’s just striving to preserve your own (and we think that’s fine in this situation).

We know Star Wars Jedi Survivor may abandon our favourite Jedi Fallen Order feature, but it doesn’t abandon tough boss fights like the Spawn of Oggdo. Beating him will also bag you one of the rarer Star Wars Jedi Survivor chests, too – and it’s something you’ll need to get if you want to 100% the game. So, it’s well worth checking out.

This is, without a doubt, one of the best Xbox Star Wars games and best PS5 Star Wars games available – perhaps ever – and being able to do things like this is part of why. If you’re on the hunt for bigger enemies after this, like the Haxion Brood, you can find out more about the best skills to purchase in Star Wars Jedi Survivor right here. It’s important to prioritise correctly.
