The legendary blue hedgehog created by Sega returns in Sonic Frontiers – a 3D platformer that seeks to integrate all the traditional Sonic gameplay elements like rings and bumpers into an open-world formula that’s a first for the franchise. Solving puzzles, hunting down collectibles, and battling enemies are all on the to-do list of Sonic Frontiers. But, you might be wondering how long to beat is Sonic Frontiers and the length of the game.
Because Sonic Frontiers is now a 3D open-world game with its environments able to be explored at the player’s whim and not a 2D on-the-rails experience, that means it’s likely going to take even longer than usual to complete.
How long is Sonic Frontiers?
Sonic Frontiers will take around 20 to 30 hours to finish, but double that at 40-55 if you want to see everything the game has to offer. This is what the game’s director, Morio Kishimoto, told IGN during Summer Game Fest.
This is quite a bit longer than Sonic Forces, which takes around four hours to beat, or Sonic Mania, which takes just over five hours to complete. This means that you will be playing Sonic Frontiers at least four times the amount of time compared to some of the latest Sonic games – and that’s if you’re not a completionist.
