Rollerdrome Tips: The player can be seen shooting a enemy in a suit

Rollerdrome is here and it is pretty great. Filled with fascinating gameplay moments as you skate and shoot, racking up points to get new high scores. But, if you want to truly excel at playing Rollerdrome, you are going to want to take in a few Rollerdrome tips before you begin playing.

These tips are mostly focused on mastering some of the more complex mechanics in the game, as Rollerdrome has a lot going on. And, while you can get through levels without getting to grips with everything if you want to complete the tougher second campaign after the initial one is complete and continue improving your scores you are really going to want to take these tips into account.

So, be sure to read on below for our Rollerdrome tips to help you out as you seek to top the leaderboard in this new bloodsport.

Rollerdrome Tips

Our Rollerdrome tips, which focus on some key changes you should make to the game’s control system and mastering the mechanics of the game, can be found below:

Change The Controls For An Air Out

The first tip for Rollerdrome? Change one of the controls. Yes, we are serious. There is a mechanic called “air out” which is by default a launch of a halfpipe or ramp when you push forward on the stick. Now, you don’t have to hold the left stick forward once you begin moving but we found it hard to not do so.

As such, every ramp or halfpipe we would ride up would have us airing out and not jumping into the air and spinning. And, if your brain is wired to the same training as ours which is  “forward on the stick equals move forward” we suggest changing that action to a click of the right stick instead, so you can pull off flips and spins and get the satisfying feeling Rollerdrome can offer when you pull off those moves.

get To Grips With The Controls

This is similar to the last tip, but don’t be afraid to play around in the first tutorial mission or get to grips with how Rollerdrome plays so you can pull off moves.

There is a lot to the gameplay here and initially, it can all be a bit overwhelming so it is worth learning moves one by one until you have mastered them and are able to chain them with subsequent flips, grinds, or spins.

Don’t Blaze Through Levels

While you might reach the threshold to unlock a new level relatively quickly, it isn’t necessarily the right decision to skate through levels straight away.

Instead, you want to spend time learning them as each one introduces new obstacles, mechanics, or enemies, such as rockets to watch out for or walls to grind on. This will allow you to hone your skills for the next level, but also for the much tougher campaign that unlocks later on.

Don’t IGnore Combos

Combos are the core of keeping up your score in Rollerdrome and you don’t want to ignore them as they can grant some nice point buffs and really elevate your play in tougher arenas. Initially, chasing combos will seem quite simple.

However, as you are introduced to new weapons and skills you will be able to rack up higher and more diverse combos which will allow you to reach score thresholds easier and move onto following levels quicker if you have already got to grips with everything new introduced in the level you are on.

Master Super Reflex

Finally, we suggest you learn how to use Super Reflex, which is the ultra slow-mo Reflex Time that allows you to better scope out an arena or kill multiple enemies quickly. This Super Reflex mechanic isn’t easy to master initially, but you will get more familiar with how it works the more you play.

Pulling off perfectly timed dodges, whether it be on melee attacks or shots, allows you to enter Super Reflex. This gives you a great window of opportunity to retaliate against an enemy or clear out opponents that are in your way, in front of you so you can continue skating smoothly.

That covers our Rollerdrome tips for while you play. Will you be playing the game in the coming days and stylishly shooting and skating as you pump bullets through the heads of your foes?
