Below, you can find a rundown of everything in store in this new season (spoilers it’s quite a bit). While the headline changes are nice, such as a new map rework and the new operator that arrives with each season, there are a lot of quality-of-life improvements coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Dread Factor.

Rainbow Six Siege Dread Factor release date

The release date of Rainbow Six Siege’s Dread Factor season is May 30, 2023, on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. This will be the second season in year 8 of the game’s life and introduce a new operator, map rework, and more.

Some of the additional improvements beyond the headline new operator and map rework include improvements to the shooting range, like a breakable wall. Rainbow Six Siege Fenrir

Fenrir is a new tactical Defender in Dread Factor, with a two-speed and two-health stat. Hailing from Sweeden, he has a F-NATT Dread Mine gadget. This emits a gas, causing the Fear effect that limits a person’s field of view, working best when covering entry points.

Additionally, within Fenrir’s loadout, you can get an MP7 or Spas-12 as a primary and the BALIFF 401 as a secondary.

Rainbow Six Siege Consulate rework

Consulate gets a big overhaul in Rainbow Six Dread Factor, rebuilding the map to be more balanced, rewarding, and complex. The attacker spawns have been moved to “reduce frustration and increase safety”, ensuring there are less vulnerable locations outdoors and attackers can make it to the main building easier.

Alongside this rework, there are a number of balancing changes to the game including a brand-new Observation Blocker gadget. This is a barrier that blocks the line of sight of drones and other tools so they can’t spot operators and other devices. Grim’s gadget also sees improvements with bigger and longer swarms on his gadgets.

New controller layouts also come to consoles and PC with alternate shooting and crouching inputs, as well as a free camera.

That covers everything you need to know about the latest update for Rainbow Six Siege and the Rainbow Six Siege Dread Factor release date. As you can see, Ubisoft has put a lot into this new season and some big shakeups are undoubtedly set for one of the best competitive FPS games when the new season launches.
