Raz can be seen using his psychic abilities.

Psychonauts 2 is a great game with a lot of collectables and items to chase down across the game’s many levels. So, it makes sense to want to know how to save in the game so you don’t lose all the progress you have made.

While we pile on praise in our Psychonauts 2 review, there are a few things that need explaining in this twisting adventure, and its save system is one of them. After all, hunting down collectables only to fear losing them is never a fun time. So, here are all the answers you need when it comes to Psychonauts 2’s saving process and how to save in the game to make sure you don’t lose anything.

Psychonauts 2 How To Save

Psychonauts 2 does not have any manual saving, meaning that there is no way to save your progress. Instead, when it comes to how to save, the game uses autosaves and checkpoints to save your progress.

This means that when you do quit out you will lose some progress, providing that you haven’t just hit a checkpoint or autosave.

However, you will always know when the last autosave was in Psychonauts 2. Before quitting from the game’s pause menu, you will be greeted with a timer telling you how long it has been since the last save. If your time says “3:00” then it has been three minutes since the last save.

Luckily, Psychonauts 2 is fairly forgiving with its saving, choosing to save regularly when you enter a new area, complete an encounter, or unlock a new skill. So, you shouldn’t have to worry too much about losing a significant amount of progress.

That covers Psychonauts 2 and how to save your game. Be sure to keep up to date with all of our other guides as you make your way through the game in our Psychonauts 2 walkthrough.
