The Overwatch 2 release date is fast-approaching, and Blizzard’s sequel to its popular competitive FPS game is already getting plenty of attention thanks in-part to its upcoming beta. However, Overwatch 2 isn’t the only game Blizzard is working on, and one eagle-eyed Twitter user has noted that it might not be the only FPS game, either.
Highlighted by Twitter user Faizan Shaikh, former principal and lead game designer Kristopher Howl’s LinkedIn profile reveals that he was working as the design lead on “an unannounced FPS PVP project” for over three years. Howl left Blizzard in July 2020, meaning this mystery shooter would be five years into its development cycle by now.
Blizzard announced back in January that it had begun the hiring process for an unannounced survival game that will launch on both PC and console. However, this appears to be a different project entirely to that hinted at by Howl.

How this potential new addition to Blizzard’s lineup will slot in next to Overwatch 2 remains to be seen, though we’re sure new information will arise… eventually.
