Are you wondering why Bastion and Torbjorn are locked and not playable, or removed completely in Overwatch 2? Well, alongside bugs related to characters showing as locked, Blizzard has had to make a pretty drastic decision due to some nasty issues that have plagued casual and competitive play in Overwatch 2.
These issues have been running rampant throughout the PvP game for the last few days, over the weekend. And, it seems like due to the extent of the exploits, Blizzard isn’t going to be able to solve it with a quick patch.
So, to see why Bastion and Torbjorn are locked in Overwatch 2, not playable, or removed completely, read below for Blizzard’s reasoning.
Why are Bastion and Torbjorn locked and not playable in Overwatch 2?
Blizzard has removed Bastion and Torbjorn from the selectable hero list in Overwatch 2 due to bugs with their ability kits, as confirmed by the official Overwatch Twitter account. Bastion has been completely removed from all modes in the game and he can’t even be customised, while Torbjorn is still playable in Quick Play and can be customised.
Blizzard hasn’t confirmed how long both heroes will be unavailable in the game’s various modes, but once the publisher has issued an update, we will be sure to add their statement to this article. This is a somewhat unusual decision as it locks off one of the best DPS heroes in the game, and may have shut off your main hero.
But, these glitches with their kit were pretty substantial as the Bastion glitch lets players fire an unlimited amount of his ultimate shots. Torbjorn, however, was able to use his ultimate twice, which is his most powerful ability. So, given how potent these bugs could be you can understand why Blizzard decided just to disable the characters completely.
Hopefully, we should see both of these heroes reinstated in the game sooner rather than later. But, while you wait, why not check out our Overwatch 2 tier list to see who you can play as instead?
