The new Mortal Kombat 1 season has finally arrived on PS5 and Xbox, with new fighter Ermac set to make (telekinetic) waves in the fighter’s meta. While you’ll have to wait until April 23 to try the MK1 Season 5 fighter if you haven’t got the Kombat Pack, there’s a double dose of content goodness on the way for when you can. For you see, from Monday, April 22 until April 29, MK1 Twitch drops are on the menu, offering up cosmetic goodies for Ashrah, Baraka, and Scorpion. Slay-tality.
During the event, you’ll be able to earn the ‘Holy Hell’ and ‘Killing Time’ palettes for Ashrah, the ‘Wasting Disease’ and ‘Binge Watcher’ palettes for Baraka, and the ‘Hot Minute’ and ‘Packing Heat’ palettes for Scorpion in the hit fighting game. Though only one palette for each fighter has been showcased so far, we must say the fuschia (lavender? Lilac?) hues really suit the trio.
As always, you’ll need to link up your WB Games account to your Twitch account, before racking up the watch hours on your favorite streamers. We know what you’re thinking, taking time out of your day to tune into other people playing the multiplayer game is so laborious.
Fortunately, WB Games says you’ll only need to watch three hours’ worth of content in total – that’s one hour per fighter – to unlock everything. Whether you’re an active participant spamming emotes to every Fatality, or have a stream on in the background while you’re mastering the MK1 characters yourself, it’s a pretty sweet deal.

According to WB Games, Season 5 is “an all-new season of content themed around the arrival of Raiden as the main boss in Invasions mode. This season features fresh challenges, story elements, boss battles, and rewards, including character skins – all earnable through Invasions and Kombat League.”
Said skins include Gaffer Johnny Cage, Sudden Overload Scorpion, Voltaic Deity Liu Kang, Electric Soul Liu Kang, Voltaic Warrior General Shao, Charged Frost Sub-Zero, Magnetic Courage Kung Lao, Glistening Mage Rain, Tainted by Evil Raiden, and more. Tidy.
