Madden 22 PS4 to PS5 upgrade – Dual Entitlement explained

Madden 22's PS4 to PS5 upgrade: how does it work?

A player can be seen preparing to throw.

Madden NFL 22 is here and players have begun to get their hands on this year’s sporting experience. Impressions have started to emerge and the game is now being streamed on Twitch and YouTube. But players on PS4 are keen to know how to get their upgrade from last-gen platforms to their shiny new PS5 console.

With Madden NFL 21, EA offered a free upgrade through their Dual Entitlement program, which allowed players on last-gen consoles to upgrade for free until the release of this year’s game this week.

However, with Madden 22, things have changed slightly for PS4, PS5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S players. But, fear not, below we explain everything you need to know about Madden 22’s PS4 to PS5 upgrade and how you can get a free upgrade.

Madden 22 PS4 to PS5 upgrade

Madden 22’s PS4 to PS5 upgrade is only available for those who bought the MVP Edition or the Dynasty Edition of the game.

As a result, this means that if you purchase the standard edition for PS4 or PS5 digitally or physically, you will not get access to the Dual Entitlement bonus or a free PS4 to PS5 upgrade. This also applies to players on Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X.

That explains everything you need to know about Madden 22’s PS4 to PS5 upgrade this year. With Madden NFL 22 now out, why not take a look at some more PS5 games releasing in the coming months with our list of upcoming PS5 games.
