League of Legends MSI 2022 has already seen some exhilarating action (sorry, we mean: slightly naff best-of-ones) but the Rumble Stage is nearly upon us, where the six top teams from the group stage will all thrash it out to move one step closer to an MSI title.

The MSI 2022 Rumble Stage kicks off on Friday, May 20, and it’ll get underway with an absolute banger of a matchup as the LCK’s T1 takes on the LEC’s G2 Esports. This is the first time the two heavyweights have matched up since the semi-finals of LoL Worlds 2019, and both come into the matchup undefeated from the group stage.

As well as being undefeated in the groups, T1 is currently on an impressive win streak of 26 matches across all competitions, and has not lost a single series since the start of the 2022 season. The Koreans are also favourites to win MSI this year, so the odds are certainly stacked against G2 in this opening Rumble Stage fixture.

The first day won’t get any easier for G2 either, as it will play the other undefeated group stage team, Royal Never Give Up, later in the day after the T1 fixture.

The Rumble Stage wraps up on Tuesday, May 24 with another clash of titans closing out this stage of the competition: T1 vs Royal Never Give Up.

Alongside the three undefeated teams, PSG Talon, Saigon Buffalo, and Evil Geniuses will compete in the Rumble Stage. At the end of the Rumble, the top four teams progress to the semi-finals, and the bottom two teams will progress to the airport.
