Hogwarts Legacy how to block and parry enemies
To block and parry enemies in Hogwarts Legacy, press and briefly hold the corresponding button to cast Protego just before you’re about to be attacked.
- Press Triangle on PlayStation
- Press Y on Xbox
- Press Left CTRL on PC
When the attack lands, continue to hold block until Stupefy is cast to parry enemies and stun.
If you’re struggling with timing, press and hold the block button as soon as the circle icon appears above your head and continue to hold the input until Stupefy is cast, rather than wait until the last second. This will give you more time to react to enemy movements and attacks. Similarly, try to position yourself facing your enemies at all times. While the icon to indicate when to block is helpful, having spatial awareness of all opponents will also be a great boon.

Hogwarts Legacy has drawn considerable criticism during its development, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.
While Avalanche has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
