Squashing out bugs and standing for liberty is just one-half of the Helldivers 2 experience. When you’re not saluting your fellow divers and protecting Super Earth, it can be easy to complete your main objective and extract to the safety of your ship. But don’t retreat from the battlefield immediately, as Helldivers 2 secondary objectives are essential to ranking up.
We’ve already been trampled on, blown up, and spat on by all sorts of creatures in Helldivers 2, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Aside from executing your primary mission goals, there are other objectives to complete – though you might not know they exist. The good news, thanks to this spot by YouTuber ‘HardReset’, there is an effortless way to make them visible. According to their short and sweet video, you first need to head into your settings menu for the new PS5 game.
Once you’re in there, scroll down to the HUD section, find ‘Secondary Objectivity Visibility’, and toggle it from ‘Hidden’ to ‘Dynamic’. You can also play with other settings if you find that your display is too cluttered. Either way, you’ll now be able to take note of these previously hidden objectives on your travels. Completing them will award you with rare resources and more experience points required to unlock better gear for your Helldiver.
But what exactly will you be doing to complete these secondary objectives? These side missions can range from destroying remnants of enemy bases around the map, rescuing hostages, and gathering decent amounts of resources. You’ll get access to them on harder difficulties, beginning with Medium, with more grueling secondary objectives appearing beyond that.
Considering that it could take up to 100 hours to unlock Helldivers 2 Warbonds, maximizing your earnings from missions is going to be pivotal to claiming everything the game throws at you. Helldivers 2 is already emerging as one of the best PS5 games around, thanks to its weighty combat, great art direction, and co-op mayhem.
