When is the Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date? This live-service game brings the fun and excitement of a match of Quidditch into the hands of players across the world, and if you’ve been waiting to dust off your broom (only to be disappointed by Hogwarts Legacy’s empty Quidditch pitch), you’ll want to know when the game will arrive.
After the major success of Hogwarts Legacy, there are plenty of Harry Potter fans waiting for Quidditch Champions to arrive, even if it is a live-service game. Could it end up being one of the best co-op games to play when it releases? I hope so, but for now, we’re ready to fuel our Harry Potter dreams.
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date speculation
The Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date is likely to be in 2024 for consoles and PC, due to the fact that the game is holding limited playtests during the summer of 2023. As such, it seems its a little way off being fully balanced and polished.
While we know the game is multiplayer-only and set as a standalone experience in the Harry Potter universe, the exact platforms are currently unknown. In the FAQs for the official game, Unbroken Studios state it has “not confirmed” which consoles will receive the game, but it will likely come to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at least.
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions beta
Eager players like yourself looking to take to the pitch earlier than others can sign up for the Harry Potter Quidditch Champions playtests via the official website. You’ll need a WB Games account to sign up, and you’ll be required to fill out your platforms as well as what types of games you play already.
As most things go with limited playtests, registration doesn’t mean you’ll be guaranteed access. However, for the lucky few who do get to play early, you’ll receive an email when you’ve been selected to take part in the playtests.
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions gameplay
Given the title and the IP, it’s no surprise that Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is a competitive multiplayer sports game based on the famous fictional sport.
While gameplay details are scarce right now, and will likely be kept that way until the game gets a new trailer, we assume that it’ll play close to what we’ve seen of the sport in the Harry Potter series of films. However, since it’s focusing on the competitive element, you’ll want to grab some friends and work closely for the chance to win.
That’s everything you need to know about the Harry Potter Quidditch Champions release date, as well as how to sign up and play the game early (if you’re lucky enough to). Harry Potter Quidditch Champions and Hogwarts Legacy have drawn considerable criticism, largely due to the fact that the creator of the Harry Potter series, J.K. Rowling, has made a number of transphobic remarks on social media in recent years.
While Unbroken Studios has confirmed that J.K. Rowling is not “directly involved” in the development of Hogwarts Legacy, it is working with “her team” and Portkey Games, a Warner Bros. label dedicated to launching new experiences inspired by J.K. Rowling’s original stories. They will aim to deliver an “authentic” experience to the Wizarding World and “J.K. Rowling is hugely supportive of Portkey Games and has entrusted the design and creation of the games to WB Games and the developers involved,” according to the game’s FAQ page. It is currently unclear whether she will earn any royalties from the game’s sale, but it is likely given it is based on her original body of work.
