Guardians of the Galaxy outfit locations

We all love custom cosmetics in games and Guardians of the Galaxy is no different. In Eidos Montreal’s underappreciated superhero adventure, there are dozens of Guardians of the Galaxy outfits to find across the game’s 16 chapters. Inspired by classic Guardians of the Galaxy comics and with some new additions from Eidos Montreal, there is a diverse selection of skins for Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot.

The Guardians of the Galaxy outfit locations, however, are less varied, all tucked away in the corners of caves and behind rubble in ruined ships. But, if you are looking to 100% the game or complete your collection of the outfits in the game and open all the pink boxes they are found in, you don’t have to look much further. We have found them all during our many playthroughs of the space-faring adventure.

Chapter 1 Outfit Locations

Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) – Rocket outfit

After sliding down the ship, you will see an opening on your left through another ship’s door. Before you go through, look to your right to find a ship with an open section beneath you. Jump down to find the outfit box.

Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) – Groot outfit

After the cutscene with the strange entity, Groot will meet back up with you and Rocket. In the next room, head to your right to find the box with the outfit behind a wall of pink Quarantine Zone goo.

Chapter 2 Outfit Locations

Nova-Lord – Star-Lord outfit

While handcuffed and walking through the back corridors of the ship with Nikki, you will come across an opening under the set of pipes. Crouch through there to find the chest and the outfit.

Chapter 3 Outfit Locations

Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) – Gamora outfit

While exploring Seknarf Nine, you will come across a large blue plant with red circular vegetation growing within the curve. This is just after you climb up the old ship’s wings.

Before you head down the path, take a right just before the plant to find a pathway leading towards a cave. Make your way through the cave and squeeze through the gap in the wall after destroying the two cube enemies. On the cliff above you, you will find the chest with the outfit.

Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Groot outfit

Right at the end of the level, after you kill the two creatures, you will use Groot’s bridge creation ability to get over to a rock opposite the arena. Take the path to the left to find the outfit in a chest on the edge of the cliff at the end.

Chapter 4 Outfit Locations

Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014) – Drax outfit (sell Rocket path)

During the infiltration of Lady Hellbender’s fortress, you will be chased by a drone if you choose to give Lady Hellbender Rocket and the sequence breaks out in a fight. Once escaping, eventually, Gamora will signal you to jump across to the next platform.

At the end of the platforms, there will be a door to enter on the left. Instead of going through it, continue onwards and jump to the platforms ahead to find the Drax outfit in the chest.

Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Rocket outfit (sell Rocket path)

If you choose to give Rocket to Lady Hellbender, you will eventually hit some sewers. At the first split in the path take a left to find the outfit box next to a barricade.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) – Drax Outfit (sell Groot path)

If the meeting with Lady Hellbender goes smoothly and you offer up Groot without a fight breaking out, you will be able to infiltrate the ship again when everyone is asleep.

Once you reach Lady Hellbender’s main chamber, walk along the outside of the room to find the chest with the outfit.

Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Rocket outfit (sell Groot path)

If the meeting with Lady Hellbender goes smoothly and you offer up Groot without a fight breaking out, you will be able to infiltrate the ship again when everyone is asleep.

Eventually, you will head down from Lady Hellbender’s chamber to another common room with guards sleeping. Take the path to the left to find an outfit box at the end, behind a number of boxes.

Chapter 5 Outfit Locations

Nova Corps – Drax outfit

When you reach the entrance to the base, you will need to switch the power flow in order to open the exit. Before you do, switch the flow so that it opens the first door on the left to the restrooms. The outfit box is sitting in here.

Nova Corps – Groot outfit

After a few combat sequences, you will reach a room with a hole in the ceiling you can jump up to. Before heading upwards, walk to the opposite end of the room to find the box behind a forklift.

Chapter 6 Outfit Locations

Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) – Star-Lord outfit

At the back of Knowhere, you will find a large pink tree with three children playing under it. Climb over the railing next to where they are playing to find the outfit sitting on the red pipes.

Chapter 7 Outfit Locations

Nova Corps – Rocket outfit

While re-routing the power with Rocket, use Groot to get him to lift a platform up while you are on it in one of the rooms to the side. Follow the path, through the vents to enter the room on the opposite side of the door.

Here, re-route the power to the sole door in the back corner of the room by using the Lightning element on the switch leading to the door. This will open the door, which will give you access to the outfit box.

Nova Corps – Gamora outfit

After Gamora clears the way across the gap by slashing the cable holding the rubble, use Groot to create a bridge across. In the next room, go all the way down the stairs and shoot the switch underneath the platform to turn the electricity off.

This will allow you to walk through the water. Tell Gamora to slash the pipes to gain access to the box behind it.

Chapter 8 Outfit Locations

Bad Lord – Star-Lord outfit

After you head down the slope with the red liquid while exploring the ship, you will see a box to your right. Get Drax to lift it and place it in front of the opening you just came from.

Jump up to the box and then above the opening, you come through to find the outfit box up here.

Cage Match – Drax outfit

After you are ambushed on the platforms at the end of the mission, you will be lowered into a new section of the ship. Make your way around the walkway opposite the door ahead to find the box behind some rubble.

Chapter 10 Outfit Locations

Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Gamora outfit

While exploring the planet, you will come across a large waterfall on your right. Head into the cave behind it to find the outfit box, which was hidden from sight.

Hero of Halfworld – Rocket outfit

After you fight a group of new creatures in a large open arena you will have to move a block of ice. Before you do, head over to where Mantis was overlooking the environment and look to the right for a hole.

Direct Rocket to go through the hole and then squeeze through the gap that opens up when Rocket destroys the rock. Block the gas vents with your Ice Element and use Groot to lift up the platform in here. Follow the path upwards to find the outfit box across a ledge you shimmy along.

Annihilation: Conquest Suit – Groot outfit

Later in the level, you will drop down a hole and Groot will light up the cave with his luminescence. Follow the path along until you begin to see the exit, denoted by the beams of light. Before heading down the path towards it, move along the right side of the area to find a gap to squeeze through with the chest behind.

Chapter 12 Outfit Locations

Thanos Imperative

At the start of the level kill the first set of enemies outside the Milano and have Frax move the yellow box under the walker in the centre of the arena. Jump on the box and onto the walker to find the outfit box on the yellow crates just next to the walker.

The Smuggler – Rocket outfit

While exploring overtaken Knowhere, you will reach a market area with a handful of enemies and a cable leading to a gap you can squeeze through. Before you go through, look to your right to see an outfit box behind a piece of metal. Use your Wind Element to pull the piece of metal out, allowing you to access the box.

Impaler – Groot Outfit

Midway through exploring nowhere, you will need to push aside something blocking the way. Located next to the yellow battery you will see a black cover that you can pull off using your Wind Element. Once it is removed, use Groot to get across the gap and follow the path.

Shoot the cover off at the top of the door and direct Rocket through the hole on the left at the bottom of the stairs. Once the electricity is turned off by Rocket, you can access the outfit box in the back right corner.

Casual Kill – Gamora outfit

Once you reach the rooftops part of the mission, much later on, you will slide down a ramp. Turn around once you land on your feet and you will see a gap underneath the ramp. Through this gap, you can find the outfit box.

Apocalypse-Lord – Star-Lord Outfit

After the cutscene with Cosmo, you will jump down to a large circular arena on a white piece of rock. Finish the fight here and get Drax to move the red box to the platform to progress. After you climb up, turn to your right and direct Gamora to cling to the wall. Jump up to the platform above, on your right, to find the outfit box.

Chapter 13 Outfit Locations

Black Vortex – Gamora Outfit

After the first enemy encounter, you will see a wall for Gamora to cling to just next to the icicles. Up here you can find the outfit box.

Five O’Clock Sprouts – Groot outfit

A good way into exploring the planet, you will come across an iced-out cave. Instead of heading down that path with the water, turn to your right to find a small alcove with the outfit box.

War Lord – Star-Lord outfit

Once you have unlocked the final Element, the plasma element you will use it to melt ice throughout a cave. Once you reach the end of the cave and have passed the dinosaur skeleton, look up again to see additional clumps of ice you can melt.

Shoot these clusters of ice and use Groot to lift the pad which is revealed when the platform drops down. Raise it halfway up to find a small alcove in the cliff you can jump to with the outfit box.

The Stinger – Rocket outfit

When you reach the forest after encountering the monsters on the rocks above, stick to the right side of the area to find another outfit box surrounded by poisonous plants.

Katathian Monk – Drax outfit

Towards the end of the level, you will reach a large wall of ice in a cave. Before you go through the gap, head up the cliff on the left side of the cave.

Pass the poison plants and jump up to the platform above to find the outfit box by a wall of ice.

Chapter 14 Outfit Locations

Gold Lord – Star-Lord outfit

Once you have made it onto the Church’s ship, you will automatically unlock this outfit as a part of the story.

Golden Guardians – Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot outfit

Once you have made it onto the Church’s ship, you will automatically unlock these outfits for the entire team as a part of the story.

Team-Lord – Star-Lord outfit

While exploring the ship, you will enter a large wind tunnel. Towards the end of the tunnel, some platforms will start to lead up above the base level. Climb up them by waiting for the turbine to stop. At the top, you can find the outfit box.

Five Horsemen of the Apocalypse – Drax outfit

After Lady Hellbender shows up in the battle against the church and hands Peter his cassette, you will fight a few more rooms of enemies before emerging back outside and being given the choice of two paths: straight ahead or to your right.

Take the path to your right and melt the ice wall with the Plasma element. Jump up the platforms on the other side and you will find the outfit box at the top.

Chosen Daughter – Gamora Outfit

After the next enemy encounter, Gamora will slash through some pipes to allow you to progress. Eventually, you will slide down into the mines. Freeze the second waterfall and look to the left to see three more waterfalls to freeze. Freeze them all and head through the gap in the wall to find the outfit box.
