Guardians of the Galaxy has a beefy Galactic Compendium, with six different categories of information to discover as you explore the many different worlds in the game. But, one of the collectible-based categories in this compendium is the Archives. These journal entries provide a backstory on some of the characters in the game, as well as extra lore about the Marvel universe.
These archives can be picked up by interacting with small black disks in-game, which produce holograms. They can be found in multiple locations across each of the 16 chapters, but due to their small size, they can be quite hard to see. Luckily for you, we’ve scoured the lands in all 16 chapters to find all of the we have explored all 16 chapters and found all of the Guardians of the Galaxy Archives locations.
So if you’re looking to complete the game and fill out your Galactic Compendium, read on to find all the Guardians of the Galaxy Archives locations. This will help you obtain the Lore Hoarder trophy and achievement.
Chapter 1 Archives Locations
Team Costumes
When you wake up in the Milano, head to Rocket’s room to find this Archives hologram sat in his room.
Nano Resin Incident Report
Right after you hop off the ship, look at the box on the raised platform on your left to find the Archives.
Pride And Fall
After you slide down the ship, you will see another Nova Corps ship off to your left. Head under its broken door to find the Archives on the left.
QZ Disposal
After Rocket has activated the shooting challenge and you shoot the first parasites. Look inside the sip on the right to find the Archives sitting next to some of the pink goop.
Failed To Send Message
After your first combat encounter, you will climb up a set of stairs to a walkway above. Up here, in the corner opposite the door to proceed, you will find the Archives on the floor.
Unthinkable
The final Archives in this chapter can be found in the large circular room with all the parasite nests. Head into the open circular platform to find it in the middle of the floor.
A Miracle!
This Archives can be found after reuniting with both Gamora and Drax. As you continue through the rooms, you will pass some metal pipes on the ground in one of the rooms. Next to these pipes is the Archives.
Chapter 3 Archives Locations
Collateral Damage
After you climb up the destroyed Nova Corps ship midway through the level, immediately turn to your left to find the Archives sitting on the top of the ship.
Off The Grid
After you fight the Slakebeast in the arena sitting below the crashed ship, use Gamora to climb up to the ledge beneath the ship and shoot down the pillar for Drax to carry.
Get him to move it to it beneath the cables for the ship and have Gamora cut the cables. Climb up the wing that fell and look for the Archive on the left.
Stupid Game
After you use the ice element to freeze the platforms in place, climb up and get Gamora to slash the wires blocking your way. Before you jump down, look to your left to find the Archives on the floor.
Chapter 4 Archives Locations
Unknown Ghilarion Species
This archives can be found right next to the exit door in Lady Hellbender’s vault. This is only accessible if the meeting with her ends with a fight when selling Rocket.
Drones
If you choose to sell Rocket to Lady Hellbender, you will eventually face a red drone. Jump over to the next platform and vault over the obstacle ahead. Look on your right to find the Archives.
Don’t Do It
If the meeting with Lady Hellbender ends peacefully, you will be able to infiltrate her fortress again later on. When you reach her main chamber, walk right, along the outer edge of the room to find the Archives sat on a wall.
Care Of Our Charges
If the meeting with Lady Hellbender ends peacefully, you will be able to infiltrate her fortress again later on. When you reach her collection of beasts, look on a hay bale in the rooms with Groot to find the Archives.
Chapter 5 Archives Locations
The Golden Force
This one can be found once you reach the entrance to the ship. Here you will need to get Rocket to mess with the flow of power, but before you do, head into the second room on the left to find the Archives sitting on the desk.
Elevator A23
Once you reach the elevator control room, continue into the next hallway and look next to a turned-over robot on the right. The Archives is sitting here on the floor.
Memo: Suit Protocol
When you reach the room with the Nova Corps suit and the workbench, look on the control panel to find the Archives.
Chapter 6 Archives Locations
Egghead Reviews: Mant-Blows
While exploring Knowhere, this Archives can be found in the club where Groot and Rocket were. It is on the bar.
Overhead
At the back of Knowhere, you will find a staircase leading down to a path under a large structure. Down this path, on a box, you can find the Archives.
Nothing
For this Archives, head to the prize machine by the pink tree in Knowhere. Take the path to the left of it to find the Archives on the ground next to the two people standing by the railing.
Egghead Reviews: Spirit Tree
Head to the raised platform at the centre of the pink tree in Knowhere to find the Archives on the floor.
Chapter 7 Archives Locations
Warning
After you seal the airlock, head through the next door to find the Archives on the floor, halfway along the corridor.
Cadet Gold’s Attendance
Directly after the last Archives, open the door on the right to find the Archives behind the grey destroyable barrier at the end of the path. This is only accessible if you don’t reveal that Nikki had a keycard in Chapter 2 and she puts it in your back pocket.
So Many Thoughts
This Archives is only accessible if you have Nikki’s keycard from Chapter 2, which is obtainable if you don’t reveal to her mom that she has it. Nikki will then put it in your back pocket.
The archives is sitting in her room which can be opened with the keycard.
Urgent Quarantine Warning
After passing through the vents, this Archives can be found sitting on the first box on your right as you exit.
Upcoming Accuser Visit
This Archives can be found in Kor-Rel’ and Nikki’s place at the end of the level. It is sitting in Ko-Rel’s room by her bed.
Cycle Reminders
In the final room of the level, you will see a number of computers. Head to the one at the back, just down from the staircase on the left. It is sitting on the desk.
Golden Shadows
This one is on the right side of the room, sitting on the table next to the final set of seats.
Chapter 8 Archives Locations
RE: She Has Come!
Eventually, in this mission, you will reach a room with a lot of computers and the guardians will discuss The Promise. The Archives can be found next to the central console, just to the left of the main screen.
Notice Malfunction
In the next room, you will need to grab a battery from a dead enemy. Just to the right of this enemy is the Archives.
Chapter 10 Archives Locations
Pip’s Quips
After Rocket blows up the obstruction on the path and you fight the next set of enemies, you will go through a cave. Before you pass through the narrow gap, the Archives can be found on the floor.
Chapter 12 Archives Locations
Knowhere Safe
This archives can be found in the first area of the chapter after exiting the Milano. It is on the left, next to some pallets, just before you get to the circular elevator.
A Prophetic Convergence
From the last Archives, use the elevator and enter the marketplace. Look for a stall on the right to find the Archives on the floor.
Egghead Reviews: That’s More Like It
After you use your wind element to open both sides of the blocked gate, look just to the left of where you pulled the second piece of metal to find the Archives on some wooden palletes.
Reply: Missing Persons Report
From this Archives, interact with the next barricade to push it to one side and walk on until you reach some vending machines. On the right, next to the last machine, you can find the Archives.
Investigating The Hand
Once you fight the large number of enemies on the white concrete-looking material get Drax to lift the box to the platform to progress. You will then see a workbench. Head to the right of that workbench and use Groot to lift the platform on the ground. On the platform above you can find the archives.
Work-Related Death Report
After finding the last Archives, progress onwards but don’t squeeze through the gap yet. Instead, jump down the broken stairs and look in the left corner to find the Archives.
Chapter 13 Archives Locations
The End Of My Hunt
Once you reach a area with a lot of venomous spores, look to your left as you enter to find a rock with 3 spores. On the rock, you can find the Archives.
Wendigone!
This Archives is found after defeating the Alpha Wendigo. Use Groot to lift up the platform that is accessible and head forward to find it on the main path.
Unsent: Major Setback
After you reach the wreckage and meet Ruby Thursday, you can find the archives on the ground along the path.
Chapter 14 Archives Locations
To Whom It May Concern
Fairly far into the chapter, Gamora will slash through some pipes to allow you to progress. Eventually, you will slide down into the mines of the ship. Freeze the second waterfall down here and look to the left to see three more waterfalls to freeze. Freeze them all and head through the gap in the wall to find the archives on the right.
