Genshin Impact’s Tighnari has a new voice actor, and fans will be hoping that his touch is more golden than cheese. That’s right, Zachary Gordon – best known for his appearances as Greg Heffley in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid films – has taken up the mantle of Sumeru’s forest ranger, and is now the new Tighnari VA.
Speaking on the announcement via Twitter, Gordon says he is “honored and proud to be a part of the Genshin family.” Though he is most recognized for his on-screen performances, the actor has lent his voice to a number of characters over the years, including Hayner (Kingdom Hearts 3), Young Ravus (Final Fantasy XV), and Mart Mattin (Star Wars Rebels).
If you’re wondering what Gordon’s Tighnari sounds like, then you’re in luck. Genshin developer HoYoverse has reportedly already added a number of the updated lines to the hit ARPG, which you can check out here.
Back in February, HoYoverse cut ties with previous actor Elliot Gindi after multiple allegations of sexual misconduct arose, some of which involved minors. Citing a “breach of contract” in its official communique, the hunt for Tighnari’s new VA began.
As one of the coolest Genshin Impact characters out there, we can’t wait to properly hear the new Tighnari in action. If you’re looking to pick him up for yourself, then be sure to check out our Genshin Impact banner guide to find out how.
