HoYoverse’s hit action role-playing game, Genshin Impact, has an ever-growing roster of characters, coming from all over the world of Teyvat. While most current characters joining the ranks come from the latest region, Sumeru, new information provided by the admins of reliable community page ‘SaveYourPrimos’ suggests we could soon be seeing a new “cat-eared” character from Inazuma.
As per SYP’s ‘IT’ on Twitter, the character, slated to arrive during the 3.7 update, will be a female Geo user, with a “short character model” akin to Genshin Impact characters like Ayaka and Yanfei.
While there’s no concrete info for now – IT states that this shouldn’t be handled as a straight up leak – as Geo-enjoyers ourselves we can’t wait to see if SYP’s intel crystallises, and where she’ll land on our Genshin Impact tier list if it does.
While it may seem odd to throw a new Inazuman into Sumeru, this regional crossover has happened before. Liyue constituent Yelan first appeared in version 2.7, towards the end of our time in Inazuma, for example.
If anything, it’s about time Inazuma offered up a cat-coded character. After all, the cats of Asase Shrine are arguably the best part of the region (though maybe that’s just to us). Indeed, it will be intriguing to see if this potential character holds any relation to Neko.
The Geo element may not be in a particularly strong spot in the meta right now, but with this report comes hope that the character will be modernised to play nicely with Dendro, or at the very least give Geo a new lease on life.
