Hoyoverse confirmed this during a developer livestream, confirming that the studio would switch from its usual six-week update cycle to a five-week cadence instead. The update is significant for introducing brand-new characters into Genshin Impact, all of them adding fresh layers of lore and unique origins to discover.

Genshin Impact 3.0 update characters
At the time of release in 2022, the latest news for Genshin Impact included the arrival of three characters. These three characters are Tighnari, Collei, and Dori. You’ll have become exceptionally acquainted with them, but in 2022, this was a very exciting time for Genshin Impact fans.
Chief Officer of the Forest Rangers and mentor to Collei, Tighnari is an a fiercely intelligent addition to the Genshin Impact characters roster. While they may not be a very sociable character, even with all that genius intellect, Tighnari spends his days living in the deepest depths of the Avidya Forest.
Meanwhile, Collei, has a far more impressionable reach within the lore of Genshin Impact. Collei has appeared Hoyoverse’s official Genshin Impact Manga in the past, becoming one of the main characters that fans have latched onto. Her backstory is a tragic one, as Collei is an Eleazar-afflicted victim, which came at the hands of grizzly experiments. Left to wander around the world on her own, she was a vagrant until she forged a friendship with fellow character Amber. It wouldn’t take long until she became a trainee Forest Ranger, under the tutelage of Tighnari.
Dori is known for owning The Palace of Alcazarzaray, a bountiful resort of high-life wonders within the world of Genshin Impact. Not only is Dori an acclaimed merchant within the land, but she is known for her impeccable ability to obtain any kind of item to meet your needs. Just make you’ve got enough Mora to make it worth her while.
Genshin Impact 3.0 banners
The Genshin Impact 3.0 update saw two phases run for new Genshin Impact banners. When the first Genshin Impact 3.0 banner phase debuted, it gave players the Tighnari banner, which coincided with a Zhongli banner reappearance. Diona, Fischl, and Dori were also part of this phase.
If you were lucky enough, you could earn Dori’s banner for free during a limited-time Genshin Impact event. However, if you missed out on it, there were still more banners to collect. Phase 2 for the Genshin Impact 3.0 update included reappearances of the Kokomi and Ganyu banners.
