The Forza Horizon 5 Blazing Thunder treasure chest challenge has long since concluded. This means that it can no longer be completed in-game.
Forza Horizon 5’s map is crammed full of gorgeous natural wonders. From rolling dunes to active volcanoes, to tropical forests, there are certainly plenty of stunning backdrops for your photo mode creations.
However, at one point it was waterfalls that Forza Horizon 5 players were going nutty for – and it’s not just because they’re gorgeous to look at. From Thursday, December 6, 2021, until Thursday, December 16, 2021, a waterfall was connected to a Forza Horizon 5 Treasure Chest location challenge called Blazing Thunder, and its cryptic clue had players pretty stumped.
“Come as you are for a blazing trilogy across any trails,” the clue read, while the image showed a buggy driving past a large waterfall. With the clue being so hard to decipher, it’s the image players were relying on here. So where exactly was the Forza Horizon 5 waterfall location?

The large waterfall fans were keen to find was southeast of Atlantes de Tula and to the west of the Cascadas de Agua Azul, in the far south of Mexico.
While you can still go there today, the challenge is no longer active in-game, meaning you don’t really have an incentive to go here – unless you just want a gorgeous view. It’s quite easy to find once you know where it is as it is connected to a lot of rivers and right next to one of the Forza Horizon 5 Barn Find locations. You can see the exact location below.
In order to unlock the chest back when the Blazing Thunder challenge was available, you needed to complete a riddle, although there was some confusion within the community about this riddle.
When it was released, players were debating the hidden requirements behind this puzzle, such as completing the Trailblazer activity with three stars or using a certain vehicle. However, we tried both of these ourselves and did not initially unlock the next step. Why? Because it turned out the challenge was bugged for many players – us included – when it was initially added to the game.
