Forza Horizon 5 was one of the best current-gen experiences when it launched last year, and the Xbox-exclusive racing game appears to still be going strong, likely due to not only its awesome open-world racing but its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass.
One analyst has spotted that Forza Horizon 5’s lifetime player count has now exceeded 20 million – a significant mark up from the last official numbers we were given in January this year, which claim that Playground Games’ creation had reached 15 million players. ‘MauroNL’ on Twitter has shared a screenshot of Forza Horizon 5’s Accolades leaderboard, which appears to show a global player count of just over 20 million.
This indicates that there is still a steady stream of new players wanting to jump into Forza Horizon 5 for a cruise around Mexico, even seven months after it launched. Playground Games has supported Forza Horizon 5 with weekly content such as new challenges, events, and cars since launch, and the game’s first major expansion is tipped to be revealed at the upcoming Xbox + Bethesda Showcase.
This new expansion – which would be the first of two promised by Playground Games – should inject a new lease of life into Forza Horizon 5 with new areas of the already diverse Mexico map and some fresh additions to the game’s equally diverse collection of cars.
Forza Horizon 5 has exceeded 20 million players worldwide since launch. The game released in November 2021 on Xbox & PC.
This is up from 15 million reported in early January.

Forza Horizon 5 remains one of the biggest additions to Xbox Game Pass, and it’s clear from these new player base figures that there’s still plenty of interest in the epic racing game.
