Epic confirm when missing Fortnite weekly challenges will appear

If you're a battle royale player eagerly awaiting a new set of quests, you'll be shocked to learn that the Fortnite weekly challenges are missing at the moment.

We know Epic Games’ epic battle royale shooter-builder Fortnite is one of the best battle royale games out there, but it’s not perfect – and this season has been a particular highlight when it comes to in-game issues and bugs. Following repeat issues with the Shockwave Hammer and the hurdling mechanic, players are now noticing that they can’t access the Fortnite weekly challenges – even though they’re active in-game. While there is something of an explanation for this, we don’t think you’ll be impressed by it.

As explained by notable Fortnite content creator and leaker ‘Shiina‘ here, the Week 7 Fortnite weekly challenges are technically available right now – as this season’s seventh week has begun – but the quests themselves aren’t showing up. So, if you load up the battle royale, you’ll be met with two challenges for completing Weekly Quests – but, no Weekly Quests to complete.

Interestingly, and somewhat hilariously, this is actually because the Week 7 Quests aren’t in the game’s files right now. While we can’t believe something like this has actually happened, it has – and we’re all going to have to wait until we can start completing them.

Fortnite Status has confirmed that this week’s Weekly Quests will be available from 06:00 PST / 09:00 EST / 14:00 GMT on January 18 – following the game’s next title update. So, players are going to be a day down on their time to complete this next week’s challenges.

However, it’s not all bad. Epic Games has also confirmed that it is increasing the XP gained from “Bonus Goals” and reducing the number of stages needed to complete for multi-stage quests going forwards. This should mean that players are more likely to complete all the Fortnite weekly challenges on offer.
