The latest Fortnite update from Epic Games is finally here and, despite the fact that pressure to vault one weapon from Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 builds continually, the developer has actually re-enabled this shooter’s most controversial Reality Augment: the Rift-jector Seat Augment. Yeah, we know, it’s actually back.

As you can see in the Fortnite v23.30 battle royale blog post, Epic Games has confirmed that it has “fixed the issue that caused [it] to disable the Rift-jector Seat Reality Augment”. So, it has re-enabled it in-game.

If you’re wondering what the Rift-jector Seat Augment actually does, and why it’s so controversial, allow us to explain. This Reality Augment is something of a Get Out Of Jail Free card for firefights in Fortnite, because it allows a player to jump into a Rift automatically once their shields are broken in-game. You don’t have to sit and thing about this Augment for too long to realise just how broken it could be – and how broken it has been in the past, even without any bugs and glitches.

If you want to know about all the other comings and goings in this Fortnite update, we have you covered. The Six Shooter and Infantry Rifle are in. These classic weapons have been unvaulted for the Cipher Quests, which should see you using them in-game.

In addition to this, Fortnite leaker ‘HYPEX‘ has confirmed that the following weapons have been vaulted: the Boom Sniper, the Hop Rock Dualies, the Heavy Sniper, the Heavy Pistol, the Silent Pistol, and the Dual Pistols. We know this isn’t a nice selection of weapons to be vaulted, but we should see a handful of them return sooner or later – the Heavy Sniper, for example, is something of a staple.

If you want a refresher on the best Fortnite landing spots, you can find out more here. But, you should probably practice and prepare for some skeet shooting in-game; the Rift-jector Seat is going to mean there will be a lot of weak enemies in the skies during gunfights. Still, this is the best battle royale game for a reason and Epic Games will surely make sure that this Reality Augment doesn’t become too overpowered again.
