When is the Fortnite Season 7 event?

Fortnite is seemingly about to swap velociraptors for the extraterrestrial as we fast approach Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7. With UFOs beaming players up from the map, teasers full of coded messages and crop circles, and a ‘they’re coming’ strapline, we’re certainly getting an alien-themed season to take us out of the Primal era.

As with every passover between seasons, there will also be some form of event for players to experience. These events are often brimming with incredible visuals and drop loads of tasty hints and lore about what will be on the way in the coming season.

However, Epic Games is yet to confirm what kind of event we are getting, and dataminers and leakers know very little at this point too. It’s left many to speculate whether the Season 7 event will be a more cinematic experience, rather than a proper in-game event, that will usher in an extraterrestrial take over of Fortnite in Chapter 2 Season 7.

So what can we expect from the Season 7 event, when will you be able to watch it, and how long will it be before we can all get hands on with the new season in Fortnine?

Fortnite Season 7 event time

The event for the end of Fortnite Season 7 will take place on June 7, a few hours before the new season goes live on June 8.

We don’t have a confirmed time or schedule yet from Epic about when an event will happen, but with the new season definitely dropping on June 8 according to teasers on social media – and previous seasonal updates going live very early in the morning – we can speculate that an event will happen late evening on June 7.

When is Fortnite Season 7?

Fortnite Season 7 will go live on June 8. We don’t know the exact time yet, but if Season 6’s update time was anything to go by, you can expect it early in the morning at around 01:00 PT/ 04:00 ET/ 09:00 BST.

The Season 7 trailer is currently scheduled to air at 23:00 PT on June 7 (02:00 ET/ 07:00 BST on June 8), but its unclear whether downtime will happen before or after this trailer goes live.

What to expect from Fortnite Season 7

Fortnite Season 7 will feature aliens, UFOs, and likely some further development around Chapter 2’s overarching storyline of time travel and interdimensional antics. Here’s some speculation around what to expect.

Crafting

While not confirmed, the crafting mechanic introduced into Season 6 will probably remain.

Aliens in FOrtnite

Teasers on social media also appear to show some new, futuristic-looking weapons that will likely be added to the weapon pool with the alien invasion of Fortnite.

With a push in recent seasons to include some AI-controlled NPCs in certain points of interest, we could also see these aliens on the ground as NPC enemies.

Towards the end of Season 6, players have been experiencing abductions, whereby a green beam of light scoops them up from the map and drops them in a random location on the island. This could also be teasing a similar transport system in Season 7, using alien technology to travel around the map.

Rick and Morty in Fortnite

Fortnite is known for its collaborations with well-known musicians, movies, and TV shows, and a recent teaser appears to suggest a Fortnite Rick and Morty crossover is coming in Season 7. This would also tie in to the alien theme.

That’s all we know about Fortnite Season 7 and its potential event. Once there is confirmation from Epic, we’ll update this guide with all the relevant information.
