Fortnite Chapter 1 map clues are the biggest mystery of Season 5

The original Fortnite Chapter 1 map is reportedly heading back to the Epic Games battle royale, as players look for clues ahead of the new Fortnite season.

Fortnite Chapter 1 Map leaks

The Fortnite map is always evolving, discarding iconic places like Tilted Towers without hesitation. Epic Games replaces them with places like Mega City, but these POIs just don’t deliver the same thrills. Well, a hit of Fortnite nostalgia could be on the cards, as the original Fortnite Chapter 1 map is rumored to return.

We hope you’re ready for some time-travel shenanigans in Fortnite, because prolific leaker ‘HYPEX’ claims that “[Fortnite] Chapter 1 returns in Season 5 due to the time machine breaking, and that we’ll cycle through Chapter 1 seasons for a month with constant map changes and original weapons [and loot pool], until the black hole, and then we go into Chapter 5.” Adding onto this rumor, fellow Fortnite reporter ‘Egyptian_Leaker’ purports that “there will be a ‘time corruption’ and the seasons will ‘repeat’.”

This is corroborated by known leaker ‘Wenso’, who adds that “since ‘time will be running faster’, every week will have a new season […] the info that me and Egyptian have is the same.” The original Fortnite map was instrumental to cementing the game as one of the best battle royale games around, thanks to its solid array of POIs. We’re still itching to drop back into Retail Row.

While we’ll take a grain of salt with the rumors, other Fortnite leakers like ‘notkrae’ have managed to access assets from older seasons, which are said to appear at Frenzy Fields in the near future. The video below shows the player at the POIs capture point, with the time machine from the game’s lobby and assets from Chapter 1 Season 5.

Leaks aside, it is notable that the release scheduled for major Fortnite updates is leaving behind the traditional format. Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 4 comes to a close on Thursday, November 2023. Chapter Season 5 is set to begin shortly after, but this will only be a mini-season, rather than a fully-fledged update.

December 2023 is reportedly when Epic Games will introduce Chapter 5 Season 1 into one of the best free PS5 games available. There is still time to finish off the current Fortnite Battle Pass, but if you’ve already done that, here are some awesome Fortnite Creative codes to use in the meantime.
