Destiny 2 moth locations: three statues of moths with wings made of ice sit on top of rock pedestals

Almost every major Destiny 2 location has some hidden animal-based collectible for Guardians to collect. Savathûn’s Throne World, introduced in The Witch Queen expansion, is another location where this is the case; players are being asked to find Lucent Moths in order to complete the Lepidopterist Triumph. For players looking to complete this task, we have all the Destiny 2 Moth locations so far – whether you’re playing on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC.

Looking at the Lepidopterist Triumph in more detail, there’s going to be a total of ten Lucent Moth locations for players to find in Destiny 2. At the moment, six of these locations are available and Bungie is expected to release the remaining four over the next two weeks. So, we will update this Destiny 2 Moth locations guide with the latest information when it becomes available.

If you manage to find all the hidden Lucent Moth locations in Destiny 2, you’ll earn the Lucent Tales lore reward – and progress towards the Gumshoe title. You can check your progress in the Secrets tab of the Throne World Triumphs menu.

Now, though, let’s get stuck into the Destiny 2 Moth locations and how you can find all the hidden Lucent Moths in Savathûn’s Throne World.

Destiny 2 Moth Locations

Here are all the Destiny 2 Moth locations available so far:

  • Moth location – The Quagmire
  • Moth location – The Apothecary
  • Moth location – The Alluring Curtain
  • Moth location – The Temple of Cunning
  • Moth location – The Temple of the Wrathful
  • Moth location – Miasma
  • Moth location – Witch’s Echo
  • Moth location – Court of Thorns
  • Moth location – Florescent Canal
  • Moth location – Altars of Reflection

Each week, two new moth locations will be added to the Throne World. YouTuber ‘Esoterickk’ has been tracking each week’s Lucent moths with handy video guides, which you can watch below.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – The Quagmire

This Lucent Moth location is one of the easiest to find and a perfect place to start – although, you can collect them in any order.

In The Quagmire, you will need to head towards the Extraction Lost Sector. Instead of heading inside, you will need to turn right and look for a small cave and a blocked wall inside a tunnel. Here, you will need to kill a group of Hive to drop a green shield around the Lucent Moth – which you can pick up once you’ve cleared the room.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – The Apothecary

The next Lucent Moth is in The Apothecary area of the Alluring Curtain. You won’t need to actually go into the palace and if you’ve finished The Last Chance, you should follow the same route used in this mission.

When you reach The Apothecary, you will need to head up to the balcony level and start looking for a Deepsight node on a walkway. When you find this, trigger it to reveal five Hive runes. Shooting all five within the 30-second time limit will reveal the next Lucent Moth on the turret nearby.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – The Alluring Curtain

Elsewhere in The Alluring Curtain, you will be able to find another Lucent Moth location. This is also on the right side of the palace if you approach from The Quagmire – so, you should be able to travel back from The Apothecary and find it with ease.

To find this Lucent Moth, you will need to search for a fountain inside a square courtyard. Here, you will come across a Hive Wizard called Ir Olena, Moth Keeper. As you might imagine, she’s keeping a Lucent Moth from you. So, you’ll need to kill her to collect it as loot.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – The Temple of Cunning

The next Lucent Moth can be found in the Temple of Cunning, located in the depths of the Throne World. When you reach the Temple, you will need to look for a large room with a huge circular platform in the centre.

When you get here, the Lucent Moth you’re looking for will be located on one of the three pillars nearby. It should be easy to spot, and all you need to do is jump from the circular platform to grab it.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – The Temple of the Wrathful

If you’re on the hunt for this Lucent Moth, you’re going to do a bit of fighting to get through the Temple of the Wrathful. However, you’re not actually going to find this collectible inside the Temple. You need to be on the look-out for an orange portal.

It’s going to be hard to miss this portal, but you’ll have to fend off some Scorn to get to it. When you go through, you’ll need to fight another group of Scorn to disable the orange shield around the Lucent Moth.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – Miasma

The Lucent Moth hidden in Miasma isn’t as easy to find as the others, but you don’t need to kill anything to get your hands on it. This one is actually hidden at the top of a tree in the swampy area you’ll find yourself exploring.

In order to get your hands on this collectible, you’ll need to find a sunken tower in the northern areas of Miasma. The tree you’re looking for should be nearby and you should be able to climb to the top using a rocky outcrop next to it.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – Witch’s Echo

If you’re collecting all these moths at once, the Witch’s Echo Lucent Moth can be found just after you’ve picked up the moth hidden in Miasma.

When you find Witch’s Echo, you’ll need to hug the left and look for a cave entrance. Inside, you will be tasked with killing Scorn and using a Deepsight Node when the area is clear. Then, you can find the Moth behind you.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – Court of Thorns

This Destiny 2 Moth location is only available during a Wellspring mission – making it a little trickier than the others. Most of the Court of Thorns is available in free roam, but this Lucent Moth is hidden in the higher areas of this location.

If you’re playing Wellspring as a defender, you’ll need to look in the room to your left. If you’re playing Wellspring as an attacker, you’ll need to look in the room on your right. Either way, a Lucent Moth will be sat in the hands of a Hive statue inside the room.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – Florescent Canal

This is one of the Destiny 2 Moth locations that’s nice and easy, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding this one.

This Lucent Moth can be found in the Florescent Canal near the entrance to the Queen’s Court – it will be sat in a fountain at the foot of the stairs.

Destiny 2 Moth locations – Altars of Reflection

Players looking to get their hands on this Lucent Moth will need to launch into the daily Altar and clear the last room in Altars of Reflection.

Once you’ve done this, you’ll need to look for a Deepsight Node in the entrance area to reveal three platforms. This Destiny 2 Moth location is located at the top of the final one.
