Warzone Season 4 Reloaded weapon buffs and nerfs

Take a look at Warzone's Season 4 Reloaded weapon tuning update which affected a whopping 41 guns during the Black Ops Cold War era.

 These changes are no longer in effect ever since Warzone discontinued its Black Ops Cold War integration and removed these items from the game.

Raven Software was on a quest to increase the time to kill across all of Call of Duty: Warzone to improve the experience, and in Black Ops Cold War’s Season 4 Reloaded update back in July 2021, Raven took a huge leap towards that, making damage changes to exactly half of the game’s primary weapons at the time.

ARs, SMGs, snipers, you name it – dozens of guns, both staples of the Warzone meta and some that were rarely touched, were affected by what is the biggest-ever weapon balancing update at that point in the game’s history. Out of the 41 guns tweaked in the update, the majority were straight-up nerfs, while the rest were a combination of buffs and give-and-take balancing changes.

“Torso multipliers were a considerable focus of these changes with how often they would act as flat damage increases given how consistently that location could be hit,” Raven explained in the patch notes. “With reductions to these multipliers, we are placing a bigger emphasis on precision – a move which we feel is ultimately healthy for the game.”

While this equipment is no longer available in Warzone following the discontinuation of support for Black Ops Cold War, replaced instead by more recent CoD games, it’s interesting to take a look back at this monumental patch. So, here were all of the biggest winners and losers back in the day.

As you can see, the Warzone Season 4 update during Black Ops Cold War’s reign was massive to say the least, overhauling much of its arsenal. Chances are, your favorite gun was hit by a nerf, though you would inevitably move onto the next best thing at the time.
